If your love of your G&L requires you to believe that G&L are uniquely misfortunate in attracting clumsy and ignorant bassists, go for it
For the record, my first neck spent a year bending itself forward thanks to a non-functioning truss rod, my second neck arrived with a maxed-out truss rod that was already bending under the pressure of the strings fitted by the factory. No need for an owner to break something when it's a pile of junk from the moment of its birth.
(P.S. the proof that it is the unreliable truss rod design not me it that the identical neck on my other G&L works perfectly, sustaining a very comfortable low action despite wearing a heavy-ish 45-105 set of Chromes flats for two years)
