Thinking I will modify it such that the electronics and pickup placement are the same as an L-1000. Could be a fun job.
That could be pretty cool. Have to fill in the original pup hole. I guess a respray would be in order then.
I think I finally found my second G&L "keeper" to join my JB (tried the LB-100 but didn't take to it- great bass though).
Fretless Kiloton. I saw this online and could not resist. Feels and plays amazing and sounds different than anything else I have. Loving series mode.
I've been looking for a fretless that can sound like a buzzsaw and this thing is it.

That Trickfish rig behind him sure isn't hurting anything! My G&L sounds ENORMOUS through my Trickfish.
Ok, I couldn't stand it anymore......lurking in this thread for too long......my first G & L is ordered....... Kiloton 5!
IMO, the L-2500 body shape that came with the 4+1 headstock was nicer, too. The current body is squished in the middle and doesn't look right to me.
In my quest for a sweet 1970's race-car looking new baby I decided on:
* Tangerine metallic body w/ matching headstock - black top binding on the body
* Ebony fretboard with white binding
* Mother of pearl block inlays on the board
* White pearloid pick guard
* Swamp ash body
* graph-tec nut
I'm pretty darn excited !!!!!!!!!!!!
