Ya, sounds not far from a l1500 in parallel that way. Cool sound.
And to be entirely accurate I had my first L2500 wired for inner and loved it. I replaced it with a new one that didn't weight 13 lbs, and it came with outer coil K wiring from the factory. I like that too. Haven't bothered messing with the wiring.
Is a factory-made K Mod always outer coils or can you request the inners - or any other combination? I always assumed that my L-2500 was outer coils based on what I remember reading here, but some of these recent posts has me curious about the inner coils. I have a Stingray 5HH and my favorite switch position on that bass is the two inner coils, so I'm wondering if I should talk to the luthier I go and talk to him about what I might expect from changing the configuration on my bass (in part because the picks on the Stingray are in different positions than on the L-2500).
A 3-way switch will give you three options. What you do with them is up to you. Want more? Add more switches.
Plug the bass to your amp, gently tap with something metallic on PU inner and outer polepieces and you will know...

Ha, I wish I trusted my skills to do more than just minor adjustments but basically I'm an INcompetent tech.
Luckily I have two very good luthiers nearby and, between the two of them, they've done everything for me from pro setups to assembling a frankenbass from parts I bought. I'd have no reservations about having either of them do a wiring change. Never saw that wiring document before. Thanks, I'll check that out.
Thought I'd post on this as it was driving me crazy...maybe I'm not the only person who had this problem.
I frequently practice with my L-2000 through a '64 Ampeg B15-N. Lately, I've been getting some "fuzz" (some unwanted resonance or distortion) on E2 and sometimes other notes. Figured that the amp might finally need a new speaker or at a minimum, the weather stripping on the fliptop might need to be replaced (it's original). I started with the weather stripping and ordered a replacement.
This morning I picked up the bass and started playing without plugging it in and was astounded to heard the same "fuzz"! After a bit of detective work, I isolated the problem to the battery - the installed battery was not making firm contact with the rubber damper in the battery compartment and resonated in a manner that was very audible through the amp. Luckily, the fix was simple - I just wrapped a rubber band lengthwise around the battery before putting it back and the "fuzz" disappeared.

Yeah, that's what I thought at first too. But a strip of masking tape laid across the bridge eliminated that pretty quickly. First time for everything I guess.
I had K Mod for a while than i added one more switch, now i have single coil outer/series/parallel for each pickup and i'm very happy with it. I'm still thinking to find a way to add something (maybe a push-pull switch) for inner-outer selection too.
Nice bass! A push/pull knob is a good idea for the selection of inner/outer coils.
There's nothing inherently wrong with the 3 bolt neck. They have a bad rap because of spotty 70s Fender quality so the myth persists.
ok, I'm burnt out on searching for the Tribute decal info pot-o-gold and despite not yet being an official Club member sans pix of my tall blonde honey babe, if someone could kindly lead me to a thread or post # where the varying decal colors are discussed in detail I'd appreciate their assistance. well i put up everything on consignment except the 94 LB100 with the custom 2016 maple neck and the ti jazz flats, gonna really miss the 2011 sb-2, the 85 lynx, and especially the 83 L2k, but I was unemployed all summer and I need a new dslr for freelance work, someday i'm gonna get another L2k with a rosewood neck, but for now i'm super happy to be able to have the LB and some solid 10 99 work coming in
i've had some pretty irritating flakey low ball stuff happen here in the past and i'd like to help out the mom and pop shop i go to in LA with the fees, but you might be right
