You guys ever see cherryburst these days? Haven't seen many on here.

Can't remember if it was posted before, but Paul Gagon goes over the electronic differences between the Climax/L-1500 and L-2000 to explain why they're so much brighter/harsher, and goes on to explain how to tame them.

A Metallic Redburst SB-2 (2nd gen) fell into my lap once. I don't think I've seen another since.

Stumbled upon a metallic red burst SB1 once at GC used. Still kicking myself for not buying it.

I'd love to see a complete list of every G&L finish ever offered. I think we'd be surprised at the sheer number of them, and we might see a few for the first time. It's also possible that some were offered, but none were ever built.

This is a list of 170 colors I have put together from screenshots of the G&L registry search page.
Most are legit, some are fancy as some bass/guitar secondhand owners are not aware of the official color name (or just take a Fender name).

This '95 SB-1 finish has me mystified. I've seen it a couple times before, no clue as to the official name. It's not Cherryburst, nor does it look like Honeyburst. It's more like a Sienna burst. I think I may have heard it referred to as Western Burst somewhere, dunno....

Looks like Honeyburst. I had a 1997 SB-2 fretless that looked very similar.

You've shown me yours before, but I wasn't sure because yours is brighter than mine. I wonder if it's lighting and/or age.

It's not quite there. Tobaccoburst is more browny on the edges.

I remember this color was seen a few times on eBay 3 or 4 years back.

I remember when the TB'er I bought it from two years ago first posted it for sale a full two years before I eventually bought it (IOW four years ago). I just drooled when he posted it because it was one of the few finishes I wanted - and it also had the matching headstock. But, at the time, I wasn't able to buy another bass so I had to just forget about it.

For some reason no one ever bought it and then two years later he bumped his thread again. This time he was trying to sell it to offset the cost of another bass he planned to buy, and he had also lowered the price. So, when I saw his bump, I got in touch right away. Turns out he lived a few minutes from where my son was going to college. So not only did I get a second chance to finally buy it, but I got it at an even lower price because I was paying in cash in person, avoiding the costs and risks of having it shipped. And, on top of all that, I got to meet another TB'er, a really good guy. There was no way I could let this one get away a second time, so while I was in VA picking up my son for spring break two years ago I also brought this beauty home with me.

I've only seen a few others this color on TB, although I've seen more of the pretty similar honeyburst. Not sure I've ever seen a cherryburst myself out "in the wild".

If it's not cherryburst then maybe it's their honeyburst? I always thought their honeyburst looked pretty similar to their cherryburst, at least in pictures. Regardless, that's a really pretty bass!
