A local g&l dealer is going out of business and is having a liquidation sale today. I know they have a 5 string jazz g&l in tangerine orange. What type of price would be too good to pass up?

Always liked that color and both of my G&Ls have maple.
Did all the Fender reissues kill the vintage market? Can you get that 60s Fender for a song because everyone is buying a reissue instead?
Now granted G&L vintage and Fender vintage aren't the same thing. I also look and see the offered woods are basswood (some folks hate it), natural ash, and okoume. Different than the originals (other than the ash, right?). And can't you get original vintage basses for less than these are going to sell for? It's not my market (no skinny necks) but I see 80s L1Ks for $800 and assume (maybe incorrectly) that vintage L2Ks fall in the same ballpark. Again granted that folks are asking what I consider silly money for used G&Ls on Reverb & the bay these days - but my personal buy/sell experience falls well short of most of the listed asking prices I see these days (maybe why my churn has slowed down).
As much as I love control plates I suspect my modern skinny neck requirement (and the cost of a new G&L these days) will make them things I just drool over. If a the expected L1K reissue shows and the control plates are available separately I may have to look at retrofitting a couple on my modern L1Ks
I like that color too...... I hate that I bought the tobacco sunburst when I am finding out I like these other colors. Ughh

I'd pay 13 and change for either one of those jazz fivers. I have a tangerine orange L2500 and he color is out of this world cool. Especially in the sunlight.

This is a great idea and I'm totally behind it. But the one in that picture that stands out to me is the burlwood looking normal L2K in the back.
