This is a great idea and I'm totally behind it. But the one in that picture that stands out to me is the burlwood looking normal L2K in the back.

I think that's "just" a piece of okoume that had figuring in it. I've seen some other pics of G&Ls with okoume that looked good as well like this one:

For those who like the chrome control plate it's a good thing. ...but a type 1 headstock? ...and FMIC says?

I'm still not sure what to expect from FMIC. For those not into this reissue, I say give it time. There could be a reissue of other models, like the Lynx and Interceptor. Who knows.

Not much left bass wise. Their last day is Wednesday the 31st.

-Used natural finish ASAT for $1100
-USA kiloton in white for $1000
-Tribute kiloton is Sonic blue for $575(played absolutely perfect. Best bass in the shop). I may go back next week and get it if it doesn't sell.
-Blue MJ-4 for $575
-Red sb-2 for $575 as well.

Is it shallow to buy a new bass because I love a control plate and 80s knobs?

EDIT: They've even got the multi color toggle switch tips. God, they really know how to make my bank account sweat.

One of my L2500's has a felt washer of some kind under the input jack.

They have used a black rubber O ring as well. The pots don't match because they are different values and the bass pot is a split shaft while the other two are solid shaft.

Pretty! I don't know of any mass production manufacturer that does metal flake finishes as well as G&L.

I think Marty Bell does (or at least used to do) the metal flake finishes for G&L. Hence the hefty upcharge.
