G&L Club Part 7

No, it was meant as a general statement about not-so-rare basses in not-so-rare colors and in a not-so-pristine condition.
But that obviously excludes those special basses, whatever the brand, that may look nothing particular but are real gems.
My point was more: do you realize that going custom with options from Europe through a G&L authorized dealer is in the 3000$ ballpark?
I understand European prices tend to be higher in general, though the buyer in question is an American who purchased a pre-owned, US-made bass.

Yeah, sure, I got that. But if US sellers find buyers oversea who accept to pay high dollar, that would have an influence on the US used market, wouldn't it?
Maybe. I couldn't say for certain. My guess is most local buyers would let it sit on the market until the price came down closer to used local prices. I know G&L will charge about $1500-2000 for a factory new custom order, but I didn't think they retained their value once they left the store.

Anyone else hear NAMM rumors? The word reissue was uttered elsewhere in relation to G&L. I'm trying not to freak out with excitement but it's a challenge. If this is true and done right in accordance with my opinion and personal tastes, I need to find moneys for my next bass. :D

They did a reissue run in 2014 of L1000, did you see those?

I heard the same rumor.

L2000 reissue, with chrome and a narrower nut.

Yep and the BABP specific version before that. I get the impression that we are talking some early 80s appointments rather than just re-releasing a discontinued model.

If true, this is a very exciting prospect especially if they can be had with the various neck options.

Reissue???

I call Bull!

As in, reissue the El Toro!

Reach for the stars man :D
