My first sb2 was a tribute. When I ordered a usa model, I was surprised that the usa neck was thicker front to back than the tribute. It was a concern at first, but has now become the most comfortable neck I've used.

NBD for me as of a couple weeks ago. This is my 1st L-2500, and it's a beast! I'd been looking for a while when I happened upon this 2016 that was a floor demo. Old school tobacco over a quilt maple top, wood binding, swamp ash body, and factory K switch (though I only hear a small difference between single coil and paralell). I'm guessing the weight is about 9.5 lbs, though it doesn't feel all that bad on the strap. I had to have my tech solder a loose wire... Other than that this is mint! So far I'm finding I prefer playing it passive, in series mode with both p'ups.

Very nice. I love my l2500 and I always play it passive.

That's a gorgeous top and finish and the binding is a really nice touch. Really pretty bass!

I almost always run mine in passive mode as well (series/bridge for me).

Super nice! That's my favorite setting as well. Try using a pick if you don't already with that setting. Super strong!

Oh hell yes. Even in passive mode the pickups are quite powerful and active sends them up another notch. Decent PBass type sound with the neck pickup alone and Jazz Bass type growl with the bridge alone or both. Series and Parallel settings and a treble boost setting. Incredible tonal range with bass and treble controls. If there's a specific tone you need it's likely there.

Just skip the oh hell yes part when you're playing in the worship band. ;)

It depends on the model. The L-2500 was 4+1 when introduced in 1996? but transitioned to 3+2 a year or two after and remains that way today. The L-5000, L-5500, JB5, and Kiloton are all 4+1. L-1505, M-2500, and MJ-5 are all 3+2. All Tributes are 3+2.

I think that's all of them through the years. Did I miss any?

My '98 L2500 was a 3+2.

This is one of those cases that shows why there should be an button that's stronger than just "Like". That really made me laugh for some reason. :D


EDIT: I guess I should share that post with my wife since it's also kind of compliments her interior decorating skills. At least indirectly. ;)
