G&L Club Part 7

I tried the ASAT neck on a 1981 E-Series L-2000 and the fit was very poor. I got another neck off evilBay and the result was the same. I liked the feel, so I had the bodies done - the sunburst was a luthier-made alder body, the luthier shaved off the heel of the neck instead of ruining the body. The black one is a Squier body so he left the neck intact and instead machined the body to fit the neck.

So the ASAT neck was too big for the L2000 pocket?

Here's some ash/maple goodness that popped up on G&L's FB feed

So...I put an order in with @RocketMusic !!! I'm keeping it pretty straightforward and simple:

Kiloton 5
Empress
Old School Tobacco Burst
Tort guard
Quartersawn neck
Caribbean Rosewood board
Dot inlays

It will be ready in 6-8 weeks! Super stoked!
That's going to be a killer looking bass. For visual reference, here's a similarly spec'ed Kiloton in alder/rosewood

And an empress/caribbean rosewood JB5

Dining room G&L jamout...just thought it was a cool pic to share

...sometimes my wife let's me keep it up for days if I'm good (volume wise of course) lol
I definitely play more if it's set up here...usually play jam tracks and my daughter and son dance as I noodle around...life is good
Nice. I do the same with my kids. I convinced my wife to let me keep a small rig in the corner of the dining room. The kids have a three-story dollhouse in there; why can't I leave my toys out, too?

It's also at the far end of the apartment from the kids' bedroom, so it's better for bedtime practice, whereas the rest of my gear is in the office adjacent to their room.
