Needs more candelabra.
Ahhhh. The old SB2. I used to collect them and so I made a pickguard jig for them. It worked perfectly, and I just sold it on ebay a few weeks back. Now I make them for LB100's. The only thing I'd change about G&L... I wish they'd offer more pick guard options!

I'd second that suggestion for 8 and 12 string basses.

Yes, clear blue over swamp ash, V+V knobs, 1999. Killer P tone guaranteed. Incomparable.

Man that LB100 in blue flake with mirror PG is hot. I know I've said it before but 'Arry would be proud.
I really think G&L should offer all their basses in at least 4 and 5 strings, plus if ordering a custom bass you should be able to order whatever neck you want, including either 3+2 or 4+1 5 string headstock.

Interesting, this SB-2 has a neck stamped May 2004 and it still has the 3-screw neck plate with the tilt attachment.

An SB-2 is my next US purchase (just ordered a Tribute JB-2 today before that bass disappears entirely). That clear blue is now at the top of my list. Gorgeous!
Looks like you've got Chromes on yours. They kill on my Tribute SB-2.
Played a USA SB-2 and a Kiloton 5 today. The K5 neck is really nice. String spacing is narrower than im used to but it was easy to navigate. I like the switch options a lot. Passive was a good choice for the Kiloton. Then I played the SB-2 and felt right at home on the neck. Under 8 lbs, empress is just ridiculous. The SB-2 needs a tone knob though. Glad they offer a factory option now. Anyway great basses. G&L gas is strong at the moment.
Yeah the sB-2 was one of the last to convert to 6-bolt. Maybe the ASAT, too? Not sure when they converted, but my '04 had the 3-bolt plate.
That ebay one looks pretty sweet. It also looks like one of the ones with its tuners mounted on an angle (ala Warwick).

Quartersawn neck. No sign of being bi-cut. So, one-piece maple or glued fingerboard? Puzzled on this one.
I once had a 2004 ASAT Bass with the 3-bolt plate (s/n: #B034xxx, body date: NOV 3, 2004).
(*) - Edit - Oh, I've just come across a picture of my 2004 ASAT bass and I now realize it had the angled tuners too.
