Question G & L peeps...... I have searched Hi and Low for the control layout of an L1505 and cannot locate anything.....I have a 1999 1505, does anyone have a PDF or can you assist me ?????

Giving a heads up here for those of you that shop G&L used at Guitar Center. Both of these are going back today with neck issues and knowing GC they will relist them. The metallic green L-2000 is a 2018 with a broken truss rod. Now I know why it returned after being sold a few weeks back. For the price I'm tempted to keep it and have G&L replace the neck under warranty.

The L-5000 has some ski jump that will most likely get worse over time as the tilt adjustment was tweeked hard and the saddles were maxed. I was able to get it playable with medium action. It has a second pickup installed where the poles get more out of line as you travel from B to G. Most likely this is non-factory- the rout is decent, the soldering messy. While it's a great pickup, adding the second one is a total waste in this bass. Terrible tone although it might be somewhat improved with a blend or second volume. IMO, a wasted vintage bass.

Hi, all. I just got a Tribute SB-2 and would like to do a VVT mod with a concentric pot. Before I start taking things apart, does anyone know if a full-sized CTS concentric pot will fit in the cavity without additonal routing, or should I buy the mini-sized pot? (I really like CTS, though.) My searching hasn't found anything yet that answers this. Thanks.

What do you want to know? It's an L-series layout like the L2k, minus the pickup select switch.

Really I'm just looking at the 2 toggles, I was hoping they would be similar to the L-series however the toggle closest to the bridge only has 2 positions not 3 like my 2500..... so maybe just an pre-on and a pre-off?..... and the other toggle I'm assuming is bass boost ?

Neck side switch is series parallel and bridge side switch is preamp on/off.

I put a Noll stacked volume/volume linear taper 250k pot (BestBassGear) into mine and then a 250k CTS pot for the tone control. There was lots of room in the (Tribute) SB-2 for that stacked pot. It's not a particularly large pot, just so you know. Image below.

That's beautiful and if I needed a 5, I'd be all over it. My blackburst 4 is still my #1, tho a new 4HH Ray is threatening. The improvements EBMM made this year are real, and awesome. I haven't heard of a 10 pounder yet, and in fact mine is possibly the heaviest I've heard about at 9.47 lb. Some are coming in as low as just over 7(!). Still, the L2K is right around 8, and I do feel a difference after a while, though by no means does the Ray's weight make it 'heavy' in my books.

Shipping to me this coming Monday. It has an SB2 neck on the L2000 body? I decided to go with it anyway. Sometimes I regret the neck issues,when I do things like this. Looks pretty decent,just one ding lower body,by control knobs,and input jack.

Anxiously waiting on the Cherry Burst,L2000 to be delivered today! Mostly because of the cold temperatures here in Central Ohio, 19 above zero! Definitely will be letting it acclimate to temperature change. Traveling from CA,to OH,and the low temperature change during shipping,makes me concerned.
