Yeah, that MFD P-pickup is brutal!

I had an SB-2 for a couple of years. GREAT playing instrument (I love the body style) but I never did gell with the pickups. Brutal is a great word to describe it. I traded it for an empress JB (7.5lbs ) and am VERY happy. The JB and my LB-100 and I'm set. Absolutely wonderful basses!

Edit: But after your video Ivan, I may have to get a JB2.....

Minimalism I suppose. Happy to have folks know I'm playing a G&L. The model number seems unnecessary. Not any adamant position on the matter though.

"Minimalism" was about all I came up with. OK, that answered my question.

Nice to see they're offering another Tribute with maple instead of another one of those Brazilian Cherry fretboard models with the unfinished headstocks.

Agreed! Now, if they'd only offer an LB-100 Tribute with a maple board and something other than a natural body...

That JB up above is looking pretty attractive at the moment, though. Anyone know the rhyme or reason for some Tributes have 4 and some having 6 neck bolts?

I've actually passed on some Tributes because of this.

No idea the actual reason why, but the same is true on the American G&Ls. For the JB, I don't think a 6 bolt would have worked without redesigning neck pocket a little from what people are used to on a Jazz.

I believe the JB was designed as a 4-bolt to maintain the traditional Jazz construction. Note the neck is 20 fret (ala Fender) and the other G&Ls are 21. As for any other models having 4 bolts, ya got me...

I haven't really liked the Tribute JBs because of the blocks, so this is a win. Still not a color I'm too fond of, but my favorite of the three.

Hey fellow G&L brethren!!! Unfortunately, due to upcoming neck surgery, I am gonna have to sell one of my beautiful G&L's... It is an amazing L2500 in greenburst, with wood binding, pretty much mint condition, and just an amazing bass. Hate to sell it, and maybe I won't have to if the Stingray of mine sells first. Hi,

I have a G&L L-2500 tribby that is having some issues. I replaced the battery a couple days ago and since, the only way to get any volume for it is to have the bass, treble, and volume turned all the way up. I have tried different batteries and have the same issue with the batteries being brand new and full of energy. I have open her up and all the joints and connections look good. I have had some crackling from the treble pot before this occurred. I keep going to the connector for the battery being the issue.I have never had a problem with this bass until now and I need her back!!

Any ideas?
