Sweeeeeeet!

I love my L-2500 and, it's taken a while, but I think I finally really understand how the controls interact and am comfortable using them to make effective tone changes. Having hit that point, Im loving that bass more than ever.

But I'm still somewhat curious about an M-xxxx. I love having a midrange control, a pickup blend knob is just so intuitively simple to use, and it has MFD pickups in it (I realize they're wound differently, but they're still MFDs!)

USA necks vs Tribute necks:

Greetings,
A while back I played an L-2500 and loved it; I like slim necks and fretboards w/45mm or less. I'm wondering how a Tribute neck compares. Someone in another thread referred to it as being like a baseball bat. But can the two really differ that much?

Thanks,

Mark

Mark,
It boils down to what neck was ordered for the L-2500 you played. I play mostly 4 string basses and own both a Tribute L-2000 and a CLF L-1000. The neck that came with the CLF was slightly more narrow and thinner. At the nut it is 1 5/8th with a 9.5" radius and a Slim C Profile. My L-2000 Tribute came with a nut width of 1 3/4", a Medium C Profile and a neck radius of 12." So, there is a difference. It's not so much as to be a problem for me but then, I'm not a fan of 1 1/2 width necks. YMMV.

If you go to the G&L website, you can see all the different necks that are available.

Holy Schnikes that's the nicest G&L I may have ever seen!!!!
agreed...certainly is nice. and the guy who bought it was initially dismayed by it and the in the sale thread he talks of selling it.

For now I'm enjoying my newly acquired mahogany L2K.

Question for the G&L faithful: Would a hard-shell case patterned for a Fender P-Bass fit an L2000 bass?

thanks
