G&L Club Part 7

I'm hoping for the additions of a five-string version of the MJ-4. I like their take on the J-flavored instruments- particularly with the saddle-lock bridge, slightly flatter radius, the ability to have an alternate neck width... did I miss anything?

If nothing new is announced at NAMM next week, I will soon order an MJ-4 and install a de-tuner.

If I already did this I apologize, BUT I'm in

Do any of you own a G&L with a pau ferro fingerboard? If so, did you request it specifically?

The only instruments I've seen with that fb wood are the limited run of the "Savannah Collection". Pau ferro is one of those woods that I prefer for fb's and I wish it was a standard option.

Bought a of Ken Smith Burners set to put on my Trib L2500. Want to do string-thru-body to avoid issues with the bridge pulling up.

Had D'Addario XL's on it before and no problem. Clipped the G-string and started to string the Burners G-string on. Can't fit the string end (the brass ring) into the string ferrules.

Bought the strings locally, so can return them, but how are you supposed to know which strings will fit into the thru-body ferrules without having to buy-n-try?

never heard of that before. can you put the strings side-by-side and take a pic? is the ball-end on the KSBs larger than the XLs?

I've never had this problem before either. Hard to see the difference- cell phone pictures.

The D'Addario string seats perfectly. The Smith Burner sits down in the ferrule about half way down the ball and the rest of the ball sits above the body of the bass.

In context.
