Dear G&L, You are NOT helping. On the right is Go Mango (new Detroit R/T color) on the left is Hugger Orange. Digging the Mango. And you basically get a free matching headstock with these.

I actually like the Panther Pink. I have one "flashy" bass already (see below) and thought I'd tone it down for this one. But orange would go really nicely with the blue I already have...

Here are good pics showing the difference between Ruby Red and Candy Apple Red. Though I've also seen Ruby Red look much darker

I was very briefly (before I realized long scale is not for me) an owner of an SB-2 Tribute in Ruby Red. Definitely a gorgeous color - perhaps my favorite red I've seen on a guitar.

(But I absolutely wouldn't put a tort pick guard on one. Ugg!)

That actually does look pretty awesome. But the Go Mango might be the answer for me. Might have to change the pickguard though - cream or white or tort? (I know this is not an LB-100 - no pics of those online yet)

So I finally pulled the trigger on this. Ruby Red it is. I just don't love bursts. And while I do love brighter colors like the Go Mango (or the Plum Crazy which almost stole it at the end), I need my new bass to be able to "fit in" in a more mellow band if need be. Ruby Red is both flashy AND classy.

And I am trying the tort guard. If it doesn't work, I'll just swap it out for black.

The waiting begins....

Yeah, if I were getting on with no pickguard I would probably go with the Ruby Red. Like this...

I got a chance to see and play this very bass in person. It was stunningly gorgeous. Do not underestimate the beauty of Ruby Red Metallic. Highly recommended.

Late to the party but your choice was my choice. For some reason I dont care for bursts that dont end with black edges. Love the shade of red.

Tobacco Burst. G&L does a beautiful Tobacco Burst. I had two SB-2's with the Tobacco Burst finish.
