Why's that?I don't know who the best is, but I know it isn't Geddy Lee.
Why's that?
True. But I'm speaking in a sense of moderately famous bassists.Because there's an entire world of bassists out there that sound amazing outside of the realm of Rush and Talkbass.

True, true. It is a completely subjective thing. I guess my thing is how much influence he's had on my playing. He's the best bassist for Rush, but I'd personally rate a lot of dead guys higher on my list of "best" moderately famous players, such as James Jamerson, Chris Squire, Jack Bruce, John Entwistle and Jaco to name a few.
For living bassists, I'd rate George Porter Jr higher and someone will probably be along to nominate Micheal Anthony soon. Do you see the futility of such a premise yet?
