Geddy Lee????? I don't get it.......

You dont like Les Claypool either & yet you play the bass??? My god boy!!! maybe you should turn your bass in for a kazoo :scowl:
Yeah, how dare you have different tastes than someone else!

:hiding:

Hey, Les doesn't make it easy for you to like him. His music is admittedly weird and he's come up with plenty of stuff that people just don't view as music. I'm a fan, not a hardcore fan, but I do like a lot of his stuff. But even hardcore Les fans know that his music is very hard to take for most folks.

very true and understandable on Les, I guess I just like more things outside of the box. Ofcourse everyones entitled to his or her opinion ( sorry ) was just shocked over the Ged thing in a bass forum lol

I never got Rush or Geddy either, but they make music that many people love, AND are an inspiration to lots of bassists, so it's all good.

There's so much music out there that really moves me in a good way, I'm not going to waste my time or breath hating Rush.

I reserve that for Celine Dion and a handful of others. ;)

Looks like OP was going to try and troll even harder with bad grammar and spelling, but decided not to. He forgot to change "tun" back to ton.

As a Rush fan who can tell you what gear Geddy used on what tour, I find it hilarious how easy it is for other Rush fans to get heated over someone else's opinion.

And please, don't feed the troll.

Same here, never had a feeling for karaoke artists such as Dion, Spears, Boys to men and other "diva's" which only do play-along etc.

The music of rush is tasteful and authentic and ain't just thrown together it's creative music at the top of prog rock I'm not into the vocal part but that's because I play bass and ain't a Singer. ..that says it all.

Comments like this always amaze me. First, I have to admit that I'm not really a Rush fan. I don't even care for his voice that much. But I did see him live once, and he was an amazing player. He played bass, he sang, and he was a showman, in front of thousands of screaming fans. He played songs that have sold millions of copies all over the world. While I don't know anything about the inner workings of Rush.. I assume he actually wrote those bass lines. I consider him, and just about any major league pro player who is out in huge venues year after year to be the total pro package. He's not sitting in his basement playing other peoples bass lines wondering why he can't be famous. He already is. Whether everyone likes his music, or his voice... he's arrived, and stayed,, at a level most of us will never see. I say good for him, I admire his work and his drive to get there. Someone like Wooten could critique his style... But I bet Wooten would admire him too on many levels, whether or not he likes Rush. It ain't easy to get to that level, and you can't please everyone. Reminds me of someone sitting at home watching a pro athlete on TV and saying that he sucks. Really?
