I can clearly discern the nuances of my basses fitted with EMGs. They all sound different.
Are the pickups in the same spots as well?

Talk about, "no such thing as bad publicity."
Love him or hate him, his music, attitude, what have you...he's laughing all the way to the bank.
So what? Like everything is alright just because he makes money. There is many rich ******** in this world
I wasn't rationalizing, justifying, defending, etc. any of it, nor am I saying it's alright. I could care less about KISS, GS, his dumb bass, attitude...I find it funny how worked up folks on here get about this ridiculous bass, his pitching of it, his music, "technique."
BTW, his picture on the site for his bass looks like my dearly departed Aunt Ethel, God rest her soul. And yet he still gets tons of tail.
You are right. Time to calm down.
wow ! that's funny. moronic but funny. I bet my corts play and sound better than what you play.![]()

Are the pickups in the same spots as well?
As I said in an earlier post (#85) they're several Fender P basses and Fender J basses ('60s bridge pickup position on the Js).
Yeah, I'm in the camp that there are a
LOT of ingredients that make up the tone of an instrument, with pickups being only one of them.
It's neck through...so...it can't be too bad. I haven't seen many cheap basses with neck through construction.

I'd personally like to try one out, see if it feels cheap or not. It's neck through...so...it can't be too bad. I haven't seen many cheap basses with neck through construction.
"KISS concert tickets not included"
For $5000 I'd want him to personally pick me up and take me to the show
And yes, unless you buy this to auction off for orphans, or to buy a home for a Katrina victim(or hell give the money to the people who actually made the thing), I think you are as big of a greedy pig as Simmons, but more of a loser.
You know, I understand $5000 is absolutely outrageous, and I know I always stick up for Gene, but for good reason: you people just LOVE to kick the guy into the dirt, don't you?? ANY opportunity you get, you pounce.
Obviously, you didn't see the part where he was discussing the wood used in Stradivarius Violins, and the resonance they had. So because he didn't state the SPECIFIC SPECIES OF WOOD he's using, he's automatically musically illiterate, and has NO idea what he's talking about??
The neck is hard maple, the body is mahogany, obviously from overseas, and the fingerboard is Indian Rosewood.
Oh and by the way, if you think all Gene does is play open 1/4 notes then you definitely HAVE NOT listened to the majority of KISS's music, because the man definitely does not pound out 1/4th notes.
So remind me again, when is YOUR new record coming out and going to Number 1??
Sorry, Try Again!!![]()
Not a problem...I mean, we're SIX FREAKIN' PAGES into a thread about GS's Axe bass, agonizing over wood types, whether EMGs make a difference...not to mention his Spinal Tap-ish pitching of it. Nigel Tufnels would be proud if he weren't a fictional character.
It just smacks of a goof on the whole world...maybe it is, maybe it isn't...or maybe it is...
