Genz Benz Streamliner, Part 10

Thanks. I posted a WTB for a Streamliner a week ago; no replies. If anyone has a lightly used one that they have been thinking of selling, please let me know. I think I would prefer the 600 but a 900 would also work.
Saw these on Ebay. No affiliation. Love my 600

Been playing blues rock past 15 years, band of last 8 just broke up

Auditioned a hard rock band today w my Streamliner 900 and two Neox 112s and brand new AC LG5 (still learning to play that extra string)

Double bass drummer wailing and guitar player and singer at full db

Master didn't get past 9, and actually dialed lower few times. Bass sounded like wrath of heaven, I haven't kicked out jams like this in long time (new LG5 had bit to do w it)

Band cones up to me after and goes that GenzyBenz sounds unbelievable, haven't heard a bass that clearly in all the racket (yup high dB clarity, not wooly)

Damn that was fun and this amp kills

I have one Im not using. I think I'll pay for a sponsorship and list it. I have some other stuff to sell anyway.

Believe it or not, the only reason I don't gig it more often is the size. It's just a hair too big to fit in my gig bag. Love the organic tones I get from it though.

Keep an eye out fellas.

I woulda bought that TB sale if I had checked here, got another on the big E, now I need to ask aged horse about that light problem with it being out on my first STL, I will now need the newer one to not have the blue light working so it matches the other onstage... so I need to unfix it...

And yes, my band recognizes the quality bass sound I bring to live gigs with these!

I recommend we fix the LEDs on your original Streamliner so you have the total vibe. :)

I missed this For Sale by a couple hours. By the time I PM'd the seller, he already had someone commit to buying the amp.
SOLD - Streamliner 900 | TalkBass.com

It's too bad because it looked to be exactly what I was looking for in my WTB.

If anyone has one like this (condition, usage, manual, 600 or 900) and is looking to sell, please let me know.

Thanks.

I was fortunate enough to score the STL900 that popped up in the classifieds last weekend. I was really surprised how difficult these amps are to find. Guys must be holding on to them for a reason.

I just bought one off a studio not real long ago in mint condition. They are around but you have to move quick. I love mine. Beautiful and functional little unit

Thanks Jeff, yer right, since my guitar band mates all have those newer generations of glowing heads on stage, I should be part of that vib! Am talking to Andy about the Led replacements...

Agedhorse just turned around my Max 9.2 extremely quickly. I went to make sure UPS has delivered it and he already had sent me an email saying he had looked it over and fixed it up. I'm due to receive the unit tomorrow.

Prepare for stupid question concerning ohms:

The Streamliner manual says "The minimum speaker load is 4 ohms."

I have a 210 at 4 ohms, and sometimes I feel like I need more speakers.

Will I damage the amp if I add an 8 ohm or a 4 ohm cab?

If you run them in parallel (the "normal" way by daisy-chaining your cabs or plugging each one into the amp's speaker outs), then YES, you can/will damage the amp. Two 4 ohm cabs in parallel will be 2 ohms. An 8 ohm and a 4 ohm will be 2.67 ohms. Don't do either of these. If you run them in series then two 4 ohm cabs would be 8 ohms, and an 8 ohm and a 4 ohm will be 12 ohms. Do a search for "series cable" or running cabs in series and you should find a schematic for making a series cable.

Do amps sound cool at 12 ohms?

Interesting stuff. And thanks!
