Genz Benz Streamliner-Pt 2

Maybe it's my Speakers on my computer system, but I wasn't THAT impressed with the -IMO- 'buzzy' overdrive sound.
Nothing I heard in that vid really impressed me. Yeah I s'pose I'll get flamed for saying this in this thread, but this IS MY opinion. What I heard- & I've got some decent spkrs hooked up here now - sounded good, but I didn't think it sounded ANYWHERE NEAR a real tube amp.
I've a Shuttle 6.0- like it a lot. It's OD is OK in small doses. I've also got a MESA WA & IT'S OD slays what I've heard from the Streamliner 900. I've got a couple of all tube amps too.
Anyway- I hope this Streamliner 600 & 900 DO impress me when I hear 'em in person.

No problem with that. Overdrives are so different from amp to amp that I don't really bass my purchases on that. I rely on pedals for OD simply because they're inexpensive and I can pick them up or sell them based on needs. What I was hoping for out of the Streamliner was that warmth and girth that only a multi-tube head can bring. It's hard to judge girth over a compressed Youtube video, but I can hear the warmth coming through. Hearing in person is always the best test.

Not everyone is going to like it, and it sounds like you have everything you need already. So you just saved ~ $800.00 :hyper:

+1 hearing in person- & in a band situation. SO manytimes I've heard what sounds great in-store.... sounds not-so-great onstage :ninja:

I probly wasn't gonna grab a Streamliner anytime soon, & as I said, I really DO hope to be proven wrong. ;)

I really want to see this clip but I can only get a few seconds of video at a time. Thought it was on my end yet "First Time Threesome" just downloaded perfectly.
Anybody else having intermitent video?

Doubt I will get mine very soon. Tulsa Ok got around 12" in many areas and up to 16" in some! We are shut down. Too bad I was hoping to get mine this week. Maybe!?

The Music Store on 31st had at least one of each in stock yesterday. Good prices too. That's where I got mine. It's been wonderful to be snowed in with a new toy! :)

Awwwwwww!!!!! :rollno::eyebrow: I was going to pick one up from them too, not sure why I didn't. That will teach me. Well, what do you think of it?

Great Video Ed!

Thank you very much for doing that.

I had a guess based on descriptions but was not sure. Looks like the Streamliner is my tone set flat. This is a plus for sure. Of coarse I can not be certain until I actually play it rather than listening through my HS80M's.

Using the Shuttle amp as a comparison gives me a great reference point.

Fantastic.

Brown says my Streamliner 900 will definitely be here tomorrow. :hyper::bassist:

Alright, so it's looking like I will need to take this and run it alongside the MB Fusion, the Tone Hammer 500, and the RH450 to determine which of these heads has my favorite "grit" sound and feel.

Finding a place I can do this that isn't Mr. Bowlus' house will be tricky though :(

Yeah, sounds terrific. My 9.0 is safe for now but I can see myself getting a streamliner in a year or two, unless Genz comes out with something even sexier by then.

Is there any medical issues with holding in GAS that long?:)

Great vid! I do prefer the tone of the Streamliner to the Shuttle, warmer and fuller vs. (to me) a more sterile tone. I might just have to sell my WW Super and pick up two or three of these!
