Genzler Amplification Club

I just thought it was Genzler encryption...

Mark
Ha.... I like that one a lot!! You know, my phone went through some update a while back and since then it is harder to type cleanly. I'm glad our amps don't have those software update issues like our phones!!

Sorry for the derail.... Carry on and carry out!

I got to very briefly audition a friend's MG800 + BA12-3-STR + BA12-3-SLT yesterday at his house (thanks, Brother).
I was very impressed with the overall sound - evenness of tone, punch, depth, & smoothness of the upper frequencies.
He's a very busy (gig wise) bassist & he knows bass gear & he loves the Genzler gear, so I'm sure it kills on a gig as well!

Hey brother- I just saw this! Great to catch up and glad you came by to check out the toys! Let’s do it again sometime- and cool coming to see you guys play. You sounded great- fun band!

And yes- it’s been busy around here, in a good way. Only time I’m unable to take my Genzler rig is on my fly dates which has been several lately, and I can tell you I miss it! I usually take 2 BA-12’s but it’s amazing how many times I can get away with using one! Rig sounds great to me! I subbed for a friend of mine on a pretty high profile gig- he came back and called me after a show. He told me the band commented on how good my rig sounded- almost like they were hinting for him to check it out. Well, he came by one afternoon also, and now wants his own Genzler rig!

One thing I’ll mention that has probably been brought up here,but.......I’ve had the Magellan 800 and 2 BA-12’s on stages ranging from small coffee houses to full concert size stages with full PA support- the sound is very consistent. I’ve had rigs in the past that sounded great in some settings and not good in others. So many variables in different rooms. I don’t have this issue with my rig now. I only make minor EQ adjustments according to the room and it sounds pretty much the same to me no matter where I’m at. The way the cabs are tuned I’m able to lower my volume and I can still hear myself- and I don’t feel like I’m missing anything. And I’m not fighting soundguys telling me to turn down! Lol!

I just got this beauty in to add to my travel gear. This makes 2 of the Genzler 350 heads and 4 of the 10-2 Array cabinets I have. Best rig I’ve ever played through.

I did some A/B comparison testing between my BA12-3SLT and my BA10-2 at last weekend's rehearsal. To be sure the BA12-3 is louder and a bit deeper, but the BA10-2 is just so punchy and clear I ended up using that most of the time. I like them both equally for different reasons, but you just can't go wrong with any of the array cabs. I think my favorite combination so far is the BA10-2 on top of the BA12-3SLT. Just a great combination!

Is anybody out there using the Magellan 212T? It seems like 99% of the posts are about the BA's. I have a pair of BA12-3 straights and of course they're excellent cabs, BUT for the last few gigs I've been grabbing my 212T. I forgot how great this cab sounds! Plenty of punch and clarity! I bought this cab right after they were released, then the BA's about a year later. I did a backyard private party last weekend and that cab is plenty loud with the MG800. Our drummer is not a super-hard hitter and the primary guitar player has a Rivera head with a 112 cab (also plenty loud). We play a wide range of covers - funk to classic rock to oldies. The 212T is definitely a "one cab solution." I'm just curious who else is playing through one of these. Don't forget about the 212T!!!

Don’t have the new 212t, but I’ve been using the old nx2-212t quite a bit. At 47 lbs it’s an easy one and done cab and it sounds great. It sounds pretty consistent throughout a space, unlike my other cabs. I’m really curious about the arrays. And sorry guys, I know I should have put the genzler head on it for the pic.

Taking nothing away from the goodness of today's Genzler, but I love seeing the old Genz-Benz stuff still rockin'. I'm probably not the only one.

Hmmm, I never heard that before. Come to think of it I don't think I have ever gotten a hangover from Miller Lite or any Miller beer, but then again I really don't drink a lot anymore anyway. Give me 2 Bud Lite Limes though and talk about a massive headache the next day. :rollno:

Anyway, back to Genzler.

This is so me as well. I have a six of Stella in my fridge that will be in there two years this xmas! And I like Stella. I've always been an herbalist when it comes to self-medication. I drink beer with friends on occasion.
