Genzler Amplification Club

My combo amp has these little fold down legs to tilt it back a little. When folded up, they are higher than the feet of the cab. I wonder if I can use a couple on one or both of my cabs. Of course, with the cost of replacement parts, I could probably buy the fanciest amp stand around.

I played my active Fender American Deluxe Jazz with fresh flats...no boost or cut on the active electronics and volume was at about 75%.

A couple of comments about this rig: It's very punchy and well balanced, and has strong controlled lows and clear smooth mids and highs. I don't miss a tweeter at all. The BA10-2 and BA12-3 blend seamlessly. The MG350 performs completely beyond it's power rating. The master and input were both at about 11 o'clock and the EQ was flat across the board with no contour needed. The rig was nowhere near it's max...just awesome.

If anyone has any doubts about this combination, I have to add my voice to those that report how stellar the Genzler gear performs.

Love your rig.

I'm curious about the guitar player's amp. Did the extreme tilt to his amp cause any weird reflection issues? Don't get me wrong, I love guitarists using stands.

This venue is rather odd shaped. The stage, the dance floor and several rows of tables are in a part of the room that's under a high domed ceiling. The guitar amp sent sound up into this dome (which is wood) and there was not a reflection problem. He was mic'd through the PA which has speakers in the back of the room that's not under the dome. Odd, but it seemed to work OK.

The Genzler rig just commanded the stage and dance floor without being too loud...just solid and present.

I think it's not unusual to tilt guitar amps that much. See picture of the Twin Reverb on its tilted legs: Invalid Link Removed

I'm reading the book "Audio made easy, how to be an audio engineer without really trying" (nominated at NAMM 2019 for a TEC award -- didn't win though), and the author mentions that in his studio he always recommends guitarists to tilt their amps; the higher frequencies of guitar being more directional, he says guitarist tend to overcompensate for higher frequencies they can't hear because they travel across their legs when the amp is vertical.

I'm a guitarist, too and tilt my amp as far as I can. Maybe it's the picture, but it looked like it was pointed way back, like where it would go right over the player's head. Glad it worked out.

I have 2 of the Genzler 350 stacks using 2 10-2 arrays for each. One to travel with and one I keep at our main church. I've used the stack for Small Arenas that hold 3-4500 people and churches with 350-500 people and it kills every time. Uses a little PA support but carries and does anything I could ever dream of. Never once had issue of not being able to rule the room with no matter the setup. Best gear made IMO.

The tone on this setup is fat, smooth, and punchy. I’ve always had sound guys and engineers come up after sound check or service raving on my Genzler gear. I’ve even had them prefer the DI out to their DI box standards after comparing. I’ve used Mark Bass, Ampeg SVT, Mesa Boigie, Peavey, TC Electronic, and Fender amp and stacks and I get more compliments on a Genzler than anything I’ve owned or played. I’ve notnlooked at other amp gear since.

Me too except for more Genzler cabs. My Gas list includes a 10-2 for carting to practice. A new 210-3 SLT for stand alone and try matching with a 12-3 and of course the 410 but I would need to be playing rooms to accommodate that beast. My MG800 is only amp. Don't take a back up.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Those little 10-2’s kick ass.

I DO kinda have GAS for a 2x10 slant, though.

Do the slant 2x10’s come in 4 ohm? I’m ASSuming not, but....
