Me too...EQ set flat, contour B engaged a bit (depending on how loud I play). Running a 5-string PJ through either 2x212 cabs or a 210 cab.
Playing around trying to cop a Geddy tone with the drive channel. Yeah I know, use two separate signals and blend, too much work. The Aux channel going though the cab output makes playing along without headphones possible, very nice.
There have been some beautiful exotic setups posted on this thread, my cab is just a mainstream Hydrive 12 but GASsing for a 12-3 Array or possibly a fEARful 12/6. The Magellan 800 power is a little overkill for my current uses really but it is so easy to get good tone out of this little box.

The most interesting tidbit was the Fig 15 showing the frequency for noon knob position on the mid-sweep is just north of 600Hz. Not what I was guessing with no markings on the amp.
I have two basses with prominent mids and one with a bigger low end and less prominent mids. Once dialed in, selecting Contour A for the first two basses or Contour B for the third is all it takes with no further adjustment. It's a very handy feature. The Magellan 800 continues to impress - very well designed head. Love it.

Animal Rig. I really didn't need the 115s,, The 212 is amazing,, The Guitar player is using a Bogner head and is Loud ... So I Started out with my 2 Genz Uber 115s and the Genzler MG212 with my Fender head @2 Ω.. Since the Mg800 is safe to 2.67Ω.. But i quickly realized I didn't need it all the pile of cabs.. ... Even though the Git and drums are very loud i scaled back to 1 Uber 115 and MG212..
It Sounded Huge, Wide and Punchy as i would ever needed. I can highly recommend that combination..
BUT what i finally settled on believe it or not was my Mg800 and Mg212... But left the 15 up for a more RnR look .. LOL we have a crew, so why not..
But All im gigging with is the Mg212 and the Mg800.. I got more clarity and tighter separation for this gig. It rock stuff with a satriani type clone guitar player.
I've played arena size gigs with just one of my Uber 115s and FOH.. . Im officially selling my Ubers.. They are great but I have been able to realize I just don't need them. I already sold the road cses anyway. HA. Now i have to get a case for teh MG212. Two Magellan 212 cabs would be Overkill for almost anything...
Im going out on a few shows with my ex boss this summer. and all that i will is gig is the Mg212 and Mg800..
Taken at rehearsals this week..
In rehearsals for some shows.. A/B the two amps...
FOH told me he liked the MG800.. I did too.. Much better note separation .. MG800 is about as loud as i need.. Its easily as loud as my Tb1200,,,

Ive been thinking that the MG212 + an MG112 in theory is an SVT 810 killer.. .But without the comb filtering of an 810 and with more to my liking sonic footprint

I'm sorry..I have never gigged the Uber 212... only the Uber 115 and Uber 410 .. I only have the Uber 115 now. But they are being sold this week

I KNOW that he can do it..Maybe one day...Not sure how many people would buy it though.. Velcro works for now....
He had a rack kit for the Streamliner that was GREAT! It was a faceplate with a cutout for the amp and a shelf... Very Sturdy!

Not sure if I missed it over on the DB side - have there been reviews by upright players? That would be interesting. Played a gig on upright tonight with the Shuttle 6.0-12T - that's a good upright bass amp generally, but there were some feedback (actually, more like resonation) issues. Of course, maybe not specific to the amp - uprights love to catch vibrations from wherever they can, and they can sympathetically resonate to all kinds of stimuli. But it got me thinking whether the BA setup with the 3s might improve that aspect. Don't think you'd get resonation off the 3s, and if they took some of the load off the 12" speaker (which I think tends to resonate with the body of an upright), I can imagine getting better sound at more volume with less resonation.

Like you, I tried a MG800 with MG212 along with a 15 and immediately unplugged the 15 as it simply was not needed. Also, I have tried the MG212 with the MG112. Same conclusion except for it did make the sound a bit "bigger" as well as more cohesive than the 15 I tried, and has matching looks for a stadium type rig.

There will be an Ed Friedland review of the new MG-350-BA10-COMBO in the upcoming May issue of Bass Player magazine -- with focus on its work for upright use. As well bassist Mike Frost has a home-brew video coming out showing this new combo rig with his upright. That will be on FB any day now.
Regarding the Bass Array design concept for use in the upright realm, in general, we've found that the use of the smaller drivers (3" and 2.5") for so much of the frequency response spectrum of the instrument offers much more articulation and overall control of those important frequencies with less chance of sympathetic vibration or ultimate feedback. What we achieve is better control and reproduction through projection and dispersion and not so much on shear volume output.
Very happy new owner of the MG800 and MG212! Love this setup. However, I find myself wishing the footswitch jack could work with a two-button footswitch in which one button switched between the channels and the other switched between the contours. I play in a power trio and having that kind of on-the-fly flexibility would really be useful. I imagine it could be challenging tone-wise since - unless you're running the tone controls flat - each contour tends to warrant different adjustments to the tone section. Still, it would add just that something more to an already killer amp!

Well all, the GAS won and I ordered a Magellan 800. It should arrive Friday. My shuttle 9.0 is up for sale. I'm excited to hear it with my BA12-3.
