This weekend I used my Genzler 2x12 classic as a stand alone for the first time since I had it. I normally come threw the FOH and just use one of my Genz Benz Focus 112 cabinets. All I can say is Got Damn!!! I was helping a friend for free so I said this should be fine. I got so much punch out of it I was blown away, now if the sound man can give me that in the FOH I’d be in Bass Heaven

Yeah man I got the single 15” in my Early age not thinking ahead. Now I’ll say when I have both 15” with more an more getting to know the amp an my bass just cause there’s two doesn’t mean I lose to much mids or highs. I’m really being knit picky. I just wonder if I would be more okay with have like a 2x12 for smaller gigs an then have the 15 “ to add to to bigger or just got with a 4x10.
I mean I think honestly the DI pedal after seeing it in use could really help tame my Spector. Cause my jazz bass sounds great through the genzler with no Eq just go an play a sound good but for the hotter newer age sound it’s taking me some time. I will say if it’s wasn’t for the little speakers drivers “brilliant design” I think I woulda got off the 15s. It’s not that they don’t deliver they absolutely do. I just evolving in my playing an need to figure out the best way to go about getting that old school funk badass Pbass dirt tone that meshes with the new room filling thump.
is it a matter of changing cabs? Or maybe just get a better EQ di pedal to help mold the tone of the Spector. I was shocked to hear how channel 2 with channel 1 contur helped deliver this tone an take some of the real big boom out WITHOUT losing the room filling sound the genzlers deliver.

Losing mids is a contour A characteristic.
back off contour a bit and use the mid control on the amp.
im using 12’s and typically go 9 o’clock in the contour and 1-2 o’clock on mid boost and and 1 o’clock for freq.
gives a good attack. Then I use pickup blend to go from honky to wooly to scoopy to aggressive…

It's really versatile. With my Starfire, I can nail the Europe '72 tone and with my Modulus TBX 6, it gets a great, deep, well defined tone. And then with a P or J bass, it can go a whole bunch of other places. My second MG350 was released from Guitar Center today (they hold used stuff for 30 days to comply with legal issues) and am looking forward to getting back to a fully stereo rig. At the Boulder Theater, we did a bunch of space-y stuff and the effects just don't sound as good in mono.
When I picked it up, I tested it through an Aguilar cab. Sounded great through that, too! Punchy, deep, and clean. Looks like a gear sale might be in my future.
I would try the eq on your amp first - then think about pedals.
the genzler RE/Q is a good bit of kit but I would use it to swap tones quickly or get two different basses in the same tonal territory.
You might prefer the 10’s - many do but I’d be surprised if you can’t find the tone you like by spinning a few knobs on the Magellan
I mainly play jazz, R&B, and pop music. Two 12s or three are great for funking out. IMHO you get the best of 10s or 15s. Twelves are right in the middle. The fast response of tens with that full body of 15s all in using 12s

Anyone who hasn't worked with Greg Bump is missing out. He's an extension of Jeff Genzler, as fellow humans and music lovers wanting us musicians to have the best possible gear and service from the people who provide it. I'm sure Jeff has a number of outstanding dealers, not to single Greg out, but I am in this case.

It was a full Genzler weekend for me….the 4X10 is such an awesome single cab solution.

I wondering if a triple stack of the 10-2 v2s will be close to the 410. Scalable - 1 for home practice, 2 for rehearsal, 3 for gigs.
Thanks so much Jeff! Thought you'd dig the pictures. I was reminiscing with my dad the other day about when I played at my own bar mitzvah way back in 1991...through a tiny little 25 watt Peavey Minx with a single 8" speaker. We sure have come a long way in this family since then.
Speaking of - tonight I was talking to my little guy about the gig - he mentioned that he could hear himself really well the entire time...which is saying something, especially considering we were running two separate Bass Array rigs along with a bumping PA system. Those BA cabinets really project! But they also take EQ really well. With certain other cabs that shall remain nameless that I no longer own, I've felt like I was spinning knobs to try and "make up" for boxy, peaky mids, a lack of natural-sounding lows or harsh highs. The BAs are much more even-sounding, and so EQ controls can be reserved for fine-tuning instead of the dreaded "Tone Suck." Between the EQ on the 350 he was using, and the RE/Q in mine, I felt like I had plenty of flexibility and control dialing both of us in.
Second cab on the way. I'll either add a third 10-2 or a 12-3 to add some beef.
I just got a Genzler NuClassic 2x12 today. Holy smoke this thing punches! I’m powering it with a Genz Benz Streamliner 600.
