Genzler Amplification Club

Happy New Year from Austin, TX. We out here tonight! Have fun y’all!!

I bought a Kinetix here used. They rarely show up used. It is a very muscular and musical head.
I bought mine new which came to $1425 with protective case, tax, and shipping. No regrets because it’s been a stellar amp and there were no used ones on the market at the time, but that used one on TB was a very good deal.

I missed out on a bunch of GAC posts, having fallen victum to the "must visit thread" requirement for thread followers yet again. Any of these very active threads on TB are hard to keep up with!

Still loving the 10-2 series 2 combo with the 10-2 extension cab. I've used it for a goodly number of shows since I posted about it first several years ago. I'm always impressed by it's tiny size and weight, and it's gorgeous, balanced sound. It sounds good in every room I've played it live, and it's wonderful at home for practice.

I became reacquainted with my best friend in high school last year, a drummer who I played a lot live with back in HS and college. I showed him the Genzler combo, and he was floored how small and lightweight it is. I told him, "this amp outperforms the Fender Bassman 50 with its 2x15 cab I used back then," which is true. He said, "I bet you wish you had it back then!" and I sure do!

UPS seems to have lost one of my 10-2 cabs. The other one sounds nice I guess. I only tried it for a few minutes so far with a Darkglass Exponent 500 (underwhelming) and a TC BH250 which sounds better.

I'm still leaning toward returning them (assuming the 2nd cab ever shows up) for a magellan pre/di and sticking with IEMs and PA speakers, personally. The IEMs still sound better than the cab to me.
