Well, had to say goodbye to the video demo BA210-3 today - it's on its way to its forever home! It's a fantastic cab, but now in its absence I've rediscovered the BA12-3 and how much I enjoy that, too.
I was actually 'shedding on some new material tonight by using my phone through the AUX jack on the back of the MG800, the first time I'd done that. I was surprised by how even and full range the BA12-3 sounded with the recorded music coming through it; very PA like. Makes sense!

Well TB Brethren it finally made it in today and completed my Genzler stack. These are the best cabinets I've ever come accross.Best tone I've ever had with extreme portability. Who could ask for more.
I got a new Magellan 800 yesterday. I really like the drive channel with the gain low enough to stay clean. It cuts the low lows alittle, seems to beef up the entire middle and soften the highs. Just a more comfy, familiar feel to me. Contour B is great when using a tweet. Good eq. The only thing I would add would be an adjustable high pass filter. This and a few of the other class D's extend very deep and flat. That's nice in theory but, it can make the amp sound alittle mushy or less focused. My broughton band pass pedal helped that. Depending on the cab though, the drive channel and alittle eq adjustment can help a lot though. And as another Tb'er said, using the fx return to pipe in another preamp like my ampeg svpcl works great. Better than most. I've got a Magellan mg-212t on the way as well.

Yes sir. I purchased all 3 off of a gentleman on here that had never used them outside of his practice room. They look 100% brand new shape. I have 3 and the custom Lecover's for all 3 basically for what 2 would have cost me new.
BA:3x12+12x3 = SWEET!!!
Make sure you don't break any windows with that rig!

A couple of other things you might want to keep in mind, in the DRIVE channel the higher the GAIN setting the more the HPF slides up and the LPF slides down.
We do this to keep a musical tone and to enhance other frequencies with the harmonic content.
If you do want to restrict some of the lowest frequencies, you could also use the CLEAN channel and CONTOUR B. CONTOUR B rolls off the lowest bass frequencies and adds a 200Hz bump -- as well as tapering the very top end. The more you increase the control knob the more drastic this will be.
Looking forward to your thoughts on the MG-212T when you get it.
My bass is very hot so, I have the drive at 9:00. After that it starts to get a pleasant overdrive. With a tweet, I like the contour B to be between 10:00 and 12:00.
I think you will like the MG212. The tweeter is very smooth and unobtrusive. Sounds much better with a little dirt than any other tweeter-equipped cab I've used. In fact, when I've used channel B with dirt it doesn't even feel like the tweeter in engaged, which is likely due to a combination of the tweeter being much smoother than it is on most cabs and the way the gain control effects the high end of the EQ spectrum. It works though. This is a tweeter equipped cab that doesn't just handle the dirty tones from the MG800, it excels at them.

I've been looking at a bunch of different amps and cabs for awhile now. Not sure how I missed the Genzler stuff but it's looking mighty attractive now that I have noticed. The 12-3 looks killer. I need to read more about the amp because the feature set is different from what I'm used to. Guess I'll try to wade through these 100+ pages this weekend along with any BGM reviews that may be out there.

Having used the older neox 212t and knowing what the new woofers used are, I have no doubt that I will at least really like the cab.
I'm building a bright box using a faital hf100 driver and sth100 horn to get better dispersion and the option of a lower xover point. This driver is really smooth. I've experimented with some others and know the contour B works well at making hornsbsound better with any kind of sound, for me. So, the mg212t is a grab and go option, and the bright box is just a nice performance upgrade when wanted. A 2.5k xover really improves dispersion but, I prefer the sound of 3.5k, at any slope. Its also a way to direct more sound to your ears rather than adding another cab or raising the 2x12.

You and I talked about the Acmes on one of the other threads... I went from an Acme B2 to a Genzler BA12-3. As I hinted in the other thread, I wasn't entirely happy with the B2. The bottom was both too pillowy and overwhelming of the other frequency bands for me. I wanted the bottom to be tighter and more in balance with the mids (I play fretless exclusively and those frequencies are so important for its vocal qualities) and smooth highs. I get all of that in the BA12-3. The bottom end is big, deep, and round without being too soft. There is no better way for me to describe the mids than to call them vocal. The highs are very present but never harsh. You have said that you're all about the bottom end... so I don't know whether this cab would be enough for you. I can say that I feel no lack anywhere with it. FWIW, I have also found a single one to be enough for my uses - a low/medium volume church band with no FOH, two acoustic guitar based original pop bands, and a couple of singer songwriters. Sometimes I have FOH with the bands and singers and sometimes not in the smaller clubs. The only gas I could get around cabs is to add another one... which as I said, for me has not been necessary.
At 34 pounds, the schlep is reasonable and it gets as loud as I want.
I do find it necessary to get the cab off the floor and pointed upward a bit. It is a short cab together with the dispersion characteristics makes it much easier for me to hear when it is up a bit. The other band players love the dispersion. They hear me much better than they did with the Acme.
As for the amp, I can't help you. I've not tried one. I'm using a Genz Benz Shuttle 9.0 with my BA12-3.
