This year's been pretty tough on my Friday night jam crew. Found out last night that the host has heart surgery scheduled in two weeks, a very quick escalation since he only became aware of a problem about two weeks ago. The other bass player had the same procedure earlier this year, and another recurring visitor needs it but has no insurance. Ugghh!
Hmm, I'm not so sure I'd want to be part of your Friday night jams................ :roflmao:

What could go wrong?

The jam started a dozen years ago as a cancer survivor's celebration thing, so we just roll with all the ups and downs of geezerhood with that in mind.

And in this reporting of all bits functioning as expected, also reporting the neighborhood has the feel of Halloween. Except I see pretty lame interpretations of the celebration as Odin and I walked today. Make that very lame. Nothing even scary enough to frighten Scooby and Shaggy.

What all the cool kids are saying (when they're not availing themselves of the hotel waffle iron) is if you stand in front of a mirror at midnight and say "pumpkin spice latte" three times, a white girl will appear to take selfies with you.

Does your hotel have a spiffy waffle machine Will?

Halloween isn't for weeks, shouldn't we be posting Black Friday spam already too?

That's rough.

First bald eagles of the year were around this week. We're 5 miles from the Mississippi and get loads of them in winter. Funny thing...the last hummingbirds havent left yet. We rescued one off the porch last night, laying on her back. She's warmed and fed, ready for release this afternoon.

Started out this morning to do a home visit for an adoption. Got to the gas station, filled up, and the truck wouldnt start...just clicked. Guessing fried starter. Pushed it into the repair shop across the street, called Mrs Bear to come get me, called my Weird Young Apprentice to have her reset the home visit. Wish I'd taken the Jeep instead, but...

Trying to decide whether my Tacoma Thunderchief is as loud unplugged as my Mota clone of an Ernie Ball Earthwood.

First World problems.

I’ve had that happen more than once, always turned out to be a bad battery. When they are old, bumps on the road can push them over the edge. They are designed to fail internally with time. Now I replace them at their warranty expiry before they have a chance to bite me. I guess that I’ve been lucky with starters.

I did get bit today, on my fretting hand by a horse....

Although I couldn't/wouldn't do it, I have often wondered what would happen if they were bitten back ;)?
A. The feathers would prevent them from feeling much pain.
B. The pressure would cause them to strike back.
C. Having your mouth that close would certainly lead to a serious loss of face.
D. What they would learn is that you cant be trusted.

C. would have me very concerned...I think I will leave this stuff up to you, Mike...I was OK with the financial loss of rescuing dogs and cats...this bird thing is another matter!

So what say ye, GOF's, what do you have planned for this weekend? Exciting trips, stay at home?
Moving slowly since I worked out last night for about 45 minutes. Joined the gym a few weeks ago. Been going 5 days a week. I usually get there about 6pm. Was 20 minutes on the bike and 25 on the different arm and leg machines.
