Good day GOF's. A quick check to see if all appendages are counted and accounted for and as always are we feeling fairly human...............? Well long weekend which is nice not to have to go to work Monday. Tonight I get my usual payday ribeye from Carey, retired Sous Chef. She's ruined steak houses for me LOL. She doesn't know I bought her some king crab legs. She doesn't like me to spend the money but what's she going to do-- throw me out? LOL.... I bought yet another clunker Ibanez Music Man clone for parts for $99 shipped. The neck would have been that much alone but this was a great GC used guitar deal.

I hope everyone can stay warm with the Arctic snap headed towards most of the U.S. this weekend. What awful timing. Hope everyone has emergency provisions... So what say ye, GOF's-- what's on the agenda for this weekend?

Wellll, no Arctic snap here. It might get down to the 70s. Gigs tonight and tomorrow night. Money sux, but better than a poke in the eye.

We had about 8" of snow last night, but it's pretty much gone now.

All parts present and accounted for, and feeling a little better than usual!

Monthly workout tonight.

We have a couple of guests, but a couple of regulars are away. That leaves us with two on keys, two on acoustic guitar, electric guitar, drums, and myself on electric bass. Five of them do lead or BGV's, so we'll have a pretty full sound.

Perfect gig for a GOF- load-in at 5pm, free food, doors open at 7pm, set ends at 9:30.

If I don't dawdle after the gig, I could be home in bed by 10:30!

I intend to breathe a lot of fresh oxygen this weekend ;)!

Maybe that king crab will wind up as shrimp with the cold and shrinkage.

I don’t have Monday off but did take half a day today. Went for a long walk to the bakery and grocery store. It was snowing again and we experienced some of that arctic blast that you mentioned.

Pizza tonight. Looking forward to whatever adventures the weekend brings.

I'm just glad the work week is over. I ran our table-top paper folder ALL week, folding, counting, and stacking over 40,000 forms. Made myself feel like a robot. TGIF! All parts and appendages survived, but my feet hurt (obligatory grump). Going to get off the couch in a while and prepare the weekly fish feast. After that, my only plan is rest and relaxation...

Present! Accounting! And feeling more human than I have in, seems like, months!!! The couple weeks of fall weather has been great, trick-or-treating notwithstanding. :D Now the prospect of an actual freeze, at least for an hour or so overnight, I find refreshing!

New MD at the church gig wants me to sing & do recitation in addition to bass duty. So, we'll do a vocal rehearsal tomorrow night, in addition to full Worship Team early Sunday. Getting ye olde butterflies again! :woot: But, I like it.

Too excited to be grumpy. Sorry.

G'day, GOF's!

Still alive and semi-well here in 87 degrees L. A. :woot:

Paperwork today, haircut and gym in awhile. Hangin' with the grandkids and then Tomorrow lunch with Mrs. Stumbo and friends. Working on various projects, digital and otherwise, especially getting my big iron Sunn rigs ready to sell. See what happens.

Prolly a movie somewhere along the way too. If you have a chance, see the Korean film "Parasite"(English sub-titles). NOT A HORROR MOVIE!

99% on Rotten Tomatoes. Stunning movie. Everyone was speechless when it was over. We saw it at Arclight in Hollywood. Awesome sound makes the movie.

After seeing a local 'vette of the same type, I got a bit nostalgic for my 2004 Z06 I sold a couple of years ago. Low, loud and zoom-zoom! I tell everyone, "that's how I got my white hair".:D The new 2020 'vette is mid-engine and looks more like a European race car. Lots of fun!

Anyways, hope all you GOFs are spending another day in paradise.

I posted the song before but this is a unique mash up of the '40s and Funk. Check it out. Headphones help!

My wife, a Bruno Mars fan, found this video some time ago and showed it to me. We binge watched it together over 3 times back to back before catching our breath! If only the grandkids coulda seen us. Now, that's entertainment!

Unlike my Thunderbird, which chose me, I chose the Navy. 2 other guys from my high school's band went in the Navy music program. It seemed to me a good way to not get drafted or get my @$$ shot off. This was during the Vietnam 'conflict' and being a mediocre at best student, I knew I'd bust out of college and wind up cannon fodder.

A guy a year ahead of me in HS enlisted in the Navy in '66. Said it would keep him out of the shooting. I enlisted in the Marines in '67, being stupid or crazy or something. In February of '68 during a mortar attack he dived into a mudhole that I'd just finished digging on a hill outside the Khe Sanh Combat Base. Seems the Navy had needed him to go to Field Medical School and be a corpsman.
