I've heard kitchen staff being called engineers.....Wondering out loud
(as is sometimes the proclivity of GOFs)
appears to me there is no shortage of actual engineers here and abouts. How is it that a sales professional can called a sales "engineer". Last I looked, there are actual standards for engineers.

Bot's got it. I knew a guy back in the '70s who was an EE; over time, he eventually worked in sales for an electronics parts company, hence, he became a sales engineer.I once worked for a company that had an engineering group that assisted sales people. They provided technical assistance. Some of the sales people were engineers.
Sanitation engineer = garbageman.I've heard kitchen staff being called engineers.....
