Other kids have a covid school schedule. They alternate two and three day weeks with internet classes on home days. There are undoubtedly kids with doctor’s notes that allow some to stay home every day and attend school just online.

I hear a lot of complaints where the online teachers aren’t offering much in the way of instruction. A lot of time is spent one-on-one reviewing assignments while everyone else just sits there. Students complain that it’s difficult to focus at home with all the distractions. Not a surprise. I’m sure that allowances are made and nobody fails.

A lot of parents would rather pay a tutor. Home schooling is too much work.

Tutoring is good too. Anything, beyond not being a part of the ill-education of their children.

Our son, who is an excellent chef, is visiting us for the holidays. One of the things he wanted to see was a white Christmas. He got his wish along with some bone chilling temps.

Today he said he would take care of all of the snacks so the family could watch the Bengals game. Beforehand, he needed to go to the local grocery store since he wanted to make homemade buffalo dip, spicy and non-spicy wings, and his own version of stuffed poppers. His father (i.e., me) drove him to the store and we went in together. One of the things he needed was a type of spice. While we were looking for the right spice, his idiot father did this and took a picture of it:

I feel sorry for the kid. To have a father like that.......


Lastly, the snacks were unbelievably great!
