I read someone's Norton VPN review. They have a fast internet but with VPN on it slows down to a speed that is too slow to browse. Don't know how true this is but worth demo'ing the product before buying.

If anyone is interested, I will take the time to write something that clearly explains why Norton's VPN and others like it aren't VPN's at all as well as the security and privacy implications of using them.

I would share that with you unfortunately I don't have access to it because it's listed under 'very private news.' I don't have high enough security clearance. Actually I no longer have any at all. As a matter of fact they still check my id when I write a check!

The band moved so fast. George liked to take the time to practice and work out all the details. Understandable that he needed some time to work on it. They slowed down the track and he overdubbed the guitar part later. At normal speed it's fast.

I liked Geoff's book. One criticism is that he was overly pro McCartney and made too many negative comments about the others.

I never realized how high Ringo's snare was tuned in this tune, sounds good.

I just finished Geoff's book, I noticed that but I think if I were locked in a studio all day for years on end with people that gradually started arguing with each other I'd probably end up with a favorite too and it would most likely be the one who acted the most professional. I thought it was a great book.

I just finished Geoff's book, I noticed that but I think if I were locked in a studio all day for years on end with people that gradually started arguing with each other I'd probably end up with a favorite too and it would most likely be the one who acted the most professional. I thought it was a great book.

Geoff also did extensive post Beatles work with McCartney. Clearly they got along well together and you'd expect him to favour McCartney in his writings.

A while back Nord VPN was seriously hacked. Servers went down for a long time while they tried to sanitize them one at a time, personal data was stolen. The more info you give them, the greater the chance that it will eventually be stolen or mined.

I don't trust any of these companies. I use a couple of products to manually scan my systems for viruses, have router and apple firewalls on, disks are encrypted....

The perils of winter walking... I've fallen three times this winter, the trails are icy. Two falls in the last week. The first was whole body face down, including my head. Yesterday was a fall back. I hit quite hard. Seemingly no concussion which is good. Got a bash to the leg which I've been nursing.

Getting old really is a drag.

The state of security now dictates the need for multiple computers. I use one for general internet and email, one for business, one for banking and records. Don't dispose of older computers, they can still have a roll. Just like us.

The sidewalk at a very small apartment building about 15 minutes walk east is never shoveled. The sidewalk on the north side of the street ends there, so there is only one path to take. What winds up is a lot of trampled snow on either side of the walk, and thick, clear ice on the pavement.

Quite a snap from the snare. Notice how their playing gets tighter each time they did a new track. John was quite a rhythm player, he played hard to bring out the sound and had a lot of strumming nuances going on.

This Mike Pachelli (from the warm south of France) video really highlights John's rough but amazing strumming technique. This really filled out the sound and made the song sound bigger.

A lot of cold days this winter which freezes the snow solid. It makes a crunch when you walk on it. This weekend with the windchill it was -30C, close to the magic -32 where degrees C=F.

This ^ is analogous to an observation Wolf Wein made on a monthly Zoom with Ariane Cap. She made a remark about not making an enemy of your drummer. Me being me couldn't keep her big mouth shut and said "Jack Bruce". I learned from Wolf in that moment as he replied that because Jack and Ginger did completely different things at the same time, they sound much bigger. I watched and listened, and by gosh Wolf is spot on.
