Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

About 2 yrs ago, I got contacted by a long time musician out of Abilene who was selling off all his gear...seems he was quickly dying of pancreatic cancer, and wanted other actual fair minded musicians to have a shot at his stuff instead of low ballers, crooks, thieves, and such picking his bones when he’s on his death bed or dealing with his widow.

Couldn’t afford his 64 Tele, nor his 56 Precision Bass, nor his 1st year MCI Steel,,,wasn’t interested in the Amps, but did walk away with an ESP 4 string P/J Bass, swamp ash, rose neck.

Ok, the point - I started putting in EMGs right after I got it, but was missing a wire...finally got to finishing it, sounds great, but the original knobs don’t fit. Suggestions for replacements?

Was looking for something unique...the instrument will never be sold for profit

Please report in that you woke up with all fingers and toes this morning.
Still alive and semi-well.

4 weeks in to my invasion-of-the-body-snatchers shingles episode. Few remnants and fatigue. On the upward arc.

My TB bros, GET YOUR SHINGLES VACCINE!

51% chance of blocking it and 49% chance of reducing severity.

Definitely worth it.

Have a nice day.:-)

It's cold out today. The radiant space heater beside me is proving helpful. No sign of any animals outside. Even the squirrels and birds are staying in their nests.

If only. It was like 66 degrees here yesterday. Feels like early May, with baby hummingbirds at the feeders and lots of stuff budding out already. Potentially way no bueno for the local fruit crops since at least one hard freeze is still so likely.

At just about two weeks after the fact, I feel pretty well recovered from my NAMM adventure now. Time to go debrief with my luthier friend and work out if/how to go into production mode (him, not me) with my latest onboard preamp design. Seeing and hearing someone playing the big outdoor stage with one of our test basses was a pretty cool way to wrap up the show:

If you're referring to the cold, we actually may be warmer than you... 39, right now...

If you're referring to anything else, I should be able to at least count to 11, the closer we get to the weekend... ;).

Hope you're well, mi amigo! Honored to be mentioned, by you, in such great company...

... now, get off my lawn! I just manscaped the snow drifts!

ric426 reporting in. Still alive and still coughing, weeks after having a relatively mild case of the flu. It's 23 degrees, we got at least 6 more inches of snow overnight, it's still snowing and we'll probably get another 2 inches by the time it stops this evening. Then we're supposed to get 1-3 inches tomorrow and a possible 1-3 inches Sunday, so we could top 12 inches in 3 days. That's far from record breaking, but still depressing.

Still alive and semi-well.

I got my shingles vaccine the day I turned 60. I've known several people who have been hit by it and even the "mild" cases are really nasty. Glad you're getting better. If any of you haven't gotten the shingles vaccine yet, listen to Stumbo and do it ASAP! It's definitely *not* something to be trifled with. I've had enough experience with that kind of nerve pain to do damn near anything to avoid any more of it.

Here in the big city of Toronto it’s Minus six Centigrade. It’s snowing yet again. Only light ATM but is set to continue steadily into next week for something like 10-12Cm.

All fingers and toes report in as OK. Shingles shot was done months ago.

I have to go out later hunting and gathering at the Metro store as we are low on milk. Dorothy is unbearable in the morning until she has her glass of milk. :)

All honey, from my understanding, is 'local'..in that bees can only gather the goods to make the stuff from a limited area around their hives. Naturally, the honey we get out here in the bottom of the high plains/beginning of the desert is less than sparkling, but just 100 miles east, a bit into the Texas Hill Country, some of the sweetest honey those rascals can generate is harvested...

Yes, I'm well, thanks for asking . . . NOT! I tell ya I don't get no respect. Is it because I rock a combo?

No, it's OK. Me and Mrs. Dog have been feeling lucky to have missed the flu, so far (knock wood)! But we did both come down with a touch of backache. Nothing debilitating, just enough to skip the SilverSneakers water aerobics a few days.

Still alive and semi-well.

YES, ^^^THIS^^^. My dad had a mild, we were told, case of shingles many years ago and I wouldn't wish that on any member of the Dog family, or any species for that matter!!!

Here's hoping Puxatawney Phil was wrong.

Sincerely,
