Did you notice that she has something extra on her left hand next to the thumb. Maybe it’s a bad burn.

I used a VOX Tone Bender in the 60’s. Such a simple pedal circuit yet it had a big influence on many bands.

It seems odd to me that anyone on TB believes you can build a bass out of 2x4 and 2x10 lumber scraps and as long as you have new strings, decent pick-ups, and and adequate tuner/bridge/nut hardware your project will be indistinguishable tonally from an Alembic or Warwick bass using similar parts but more exotic woods. Interestingly enough, I have never run across a luthier who bought into the theory that as long as wood is physically stable enough to hold hardware and not collapse under the tension from the strings the type of wood doesn't matter (i.e. has no effect in nay way on the overall sound/voicing/tonal qualities of the instrument).
Tomorrow my wife and I will be celebrating our 40th Anniversary. If all goes well, she will get to come home from the hospital tomorrow.
She has been there for 1 week. Too long for me.
If she can’t come home tomorrow, I will get carry out food for dinner with a couple of battery powered candles so we can “celebrate” at the hospital.
Any suggestions on carry out food? She has no dietary restrictions as of today. Although I have to follow a strict gluten free diet.

Acoustic builders have all sorts of ways of ageing wood to bring out the tone.
Yamaha, for example, has a process to make new wood sound old.

Does she like Chinese food? Comes in boxes, easy to serve and nice and hot.

Depends on whether it has a 6' or 8' bed. Also what kind of mufflers, V6 or V8-or diesel.
You know her favorites. That's what you bring. Go to a Florist and pick up a flower box. Put the food in there. Surprise!

Sorry for her, friend. I can relate. Very tough on you too, I know all too well.
When my 'bitter half' was hospitalised with bacterial pneumonia 4+ years ago, she couldn't/wouldn't eat the food they brought her. The hospital had a separate snack bar that could make something edible. I, who am blessed with a cast iron stomach, ate the hospital food and got her stuff from the snack bar....and of course anyone who has been eating hospital food for week will be delighted with anything that comes from anywhere other than the hospital cafeteria!
Anything that’s soft and easy on the digestive system, at least to begin with. Vegetables are good to include in a meal.
Broccoli is a wonder food, nature’s broom. Have some every day, like an apple a day. Cantalope is a healthy snack.
Some restraunt food is overrefined, full of flavor enhancers such as sugars, MSG, and salt. At least when you prepare your own food, you know what’s in it.

I do this one in our group. Not nearly as well. The drummer always sets the tempo a little faster than the original. It doesn't have that same 'nasty' feel to it(neither do I). My favorite Wilson Pickett song is his treatment of "Sugar, Sugar". Makes that piece of 'bubblegum' almost dirty. Love it.

I always liked the Commitments version. Very good movie as well. Andrew Strong was only 17 when the movie and soundtrack was released.
