Advanced technology?!?!? Not where i was working. When my job ended I quickly found out that there were kids coming out of community college with more marketable experience then I had. Of course at 59, if I didn't have a Phd, I wasn't going to get another tech job regardless. Forced early retirement. I was burned out on IT anyway. I wasn't quite ready for retirement, but I don't miss it either. I just retired my Windows XP system a couple months ago.
I retired my XP system a year or two ago...prematurely. Trying to duplicate some CD covers I made using Corel Print House 6. I can't get it to run on any of my newer systems and there's no way to open their %^^%#^ .CPH files without it. I might have to go out and buy an old/cheap/crap XP system just to run the software and convert the files to something like .jpg.
A Public high school diploma (Phd) always helps.

That's why I always wear welding gloves when I'm soldering. I learned my lesson.
It's a 'cold solder' joint. That way you don't need to plug it in.
I avoid the whole issue. I don't use solder anymore, just little dabs of J-B Weld.
I know many people are critical of Apple but, I would like to pass on my recent experience.
Last week, I updated the firmware on my old, well used, iPhone 6 to 12.1.1. After that, I noticed the phone was extremely hot and the display was bulging up and separating from the body (swollen battery). I immediately thought, oh crap, now I have to pay big bucks for one of their current products without a headphone jack.
I called Apple and made an appointment to bring the old one in on Tuesday. Twenty minutes and $30 later, I walked out the the Apple store with a new (not refurbished) iPhone 6.

Yeah, but now Apple has you listed in their database of recalcitrant users who don't upgrade every time they introduce the latest version of a device.

Twice I had issues with Apple products after installing upgrades. I’d never use anything else because they do it better. I’m convinced that they do things in software on older models to force you to buy new hardware.

I have a problem with a lot of advertising photography.
You have to wonder how many people reviewed and approved a given image. Often ads are enlarged to reveal flaws that should have been touched up but were somehow missed. Probably because they proof the image in a small format.
No excuse for this sort of sloppiness.
