In the Elder Times before caller ID, perchance I might ask a telephone scammer "can you hold a moment, please, while I turn off the stove?" Put the receiver down and .... wait. The record before they hung up approached 30 minutes.

"Receiver". How quaint.

I still have a landline[for the alarm system]. I almost never answer it but if I do-and it's a sales call- I tell them to hang on while I get a pen to write this down. Then I grab my conch shell.......and I know how to use it.

Yeah I stopped looking at that thread. Lime goes well with gin and tonic water. They served that in frappe glasses at Maddy's in the early 70s but pretty sure I don't know how to get to Marblehead without a guide.
I must have missed that thread. I've been busy with work and practice and general malaise. Ever have days when you just feel like it's not worth trying to keep this music thing going anymore? Yeah, this is one of those days. Weeks. Years, really. Ugh.

We just cancelled our landline yesterday. I felt like we were getting enough spam on our cell phones.

A friend in my Navy days would say "it's been a bad decade".

Ouch. There seems to be a lot of that going around lately. I've actually been strongly contemplating going back to guitar as my main focus for a while now, or possibly even keys. I used to swap primary attention between bass and guitar every few years for quite a number of years and I have a really nice Heritage guitar just collecting dust these days.

At the 4th of July gig I did some friends came up and asked me why I quit doing a single act on guitar. I told them I got busy. Well, I'm getting caught up and I'm considering restarting my solo act with my trusty Telecaster lefty. I really enjoy doing that show, I can pick all the music I like and the audience always appreciates the older 80's rock stuff.... I do need to buy a pair of 115's for my PA though.. or maybe nowadays 112's might be enough....

It never hurts to have the option of playing another instrument.

Loopers can be fun and entertaining for the audience from a performance perspective. You can play a bass part, loop it, put the bass down and pick up a guitar to lay over it. All without missing a beat.
