I am wondering who you spoke with since we don't have a female in customer service at the moment. I'm guessing maybe it was our new receptionist? There's a lot to learn for her especially since she is unfamiliar with musical instruments!

I couldn't make it through all 8 pages but we license our designs to Praxis.

There are a few of us. All weirdos I'm sure.

The Trans red finish on yours is sweet. I'm sell my burst 4 to possibly fund a red 4. Though, I need another bass like a whole in the head at the moment. That red with all black hardware raises the blood pressure a bit.

If I had the extra greenbacks, the 4 string bass, with black hardware, it would be mine!
Gibson Basses have been underestimated since day one in a world of Fenders. The new EB bass sounds fantastic. With the ability to assimilate classic rock lows or modern tone, with solid hardware, the EB is an awesome deal. I do not miss my Warwick Corvette $$ 5 string at all after aquiring this bass. If owning a bass instrument that looks and sounds like everyone elses is normal, Gibson owners are the bass definition of insanity! Count me in!

Just scored an original epiphone Rivoli, made in Kalamazoo, Michigan. 1964 all original including the original hard shell case.

The only thing missing unfortunately is the tort Pickguard...

according to the Gibson bass book, these were made side by side with the Gibson eb2 bass and have identical specs, woods and hardware.

It's my second vintage bass and all I can say I'm pretty amazed with the overall feel and tone of the bass. I was looking for a Gibson eb2 for years (one of my dream basses) and couldn't be happier with the epiphone!!!

They are fairly rare. I've seen two come up for sale in the last three years. Never saw or played one IRL.

I assume they’re 34” scale as this looks longer than my 2008 SG

One that was for sale here was pretty much in "project" condition, the one that sold on Reverb had a headstock repair. Both were bright red from what I recall.

I was always curious how T-Bird pickups sound on these basses, but no luck so far.

The mini switches on the one in your picture are aftermarket AFAIK.

I never owned one but I did play one numerous times in store when they came out, never could bond with it, the sound was unremarkable.

Maybe, but 2020 may still be a year for consolidating their finances after the new owners bought the company just under a year ago and brought it out of bankruptcy.

Still, it wouldn’t take much at all to bring out simplified versions of their mainstays such as they previously did with their recent SG Special and Thunderbird Studio basses. Besides those easy ones, there’s a LOT they could do, really, if they’re into it

I'd love to see a '69 EB-3 reissue (complete with mudbucker, Varitone, and 2V2T controls), but I'm not holding my breath. If they did, it would probably be ridiculously expensive compared to a modern SG Standard bass despite being very nearly the same instrument.
