Sound related but it is not a rule so if it sounds good for you it doesn't matter..

Ok thanks. I'll give it a try sometime. no hurry since either of these cabs alone is fine for just about everything I do. Just think it might be fun to stack for some rock gig or something sometime.

Some pages back, someone posted about painting the Neo112 cab grills black.
So, I did.

Pull 'em, removed badges, scuff the grills up with a scotchbrite pad, wipe them down, hit them with krylon industrial enamel black, rest over night, re-install badges, reinstall grills.

Much better to my eye, and now they match everything else I have for when I feel like putting one under my Walkabout Scout, which actually sounds really good.

Chef- How's the painted grill holding up? I've been interested in one of these cabs, someone is selling one locally for $200 cash, but the chrome grill just irks me for some reason.

So far, so good. The stock grills are a grey-ish powder coat, not chrome.
Or, at least, that's what mine were.

I have gigged the WA into 2 GK NEO II's for a good few months in both bands with good success!

Yessir, I think I knew that.
Both my jobs this weekend are large and loud, one indoor, one outdoor.
Combine that with "new Sadowsky here with the 7 day approval period," and it's not the weekend for me to be trying new rig stuff

I'll be using the M9>2 x LDS 2x8 vertical stack. I think the Walkabout would fall just short of enough headroom for the indoor job, and way short on the outdoor job.

I have not tried stacking vertically. I will need to try that once.

I like that for two reasons:
improved near field monitoring
the line array seems to push it out into the room better

I'm getting my Neo112 in the mail tomorrow. I'm wondering if leaving it flat on the floor is fine (as I've seen in a couple pics in this thread) or if I should keep it up off the ground on an amp stand, or a gramma pad or something?

For those who are gigging with just one 112, do you leave it flat, angle it up, or get it up off the ground? Thoughts?

It has me thinking to get a larger NEO cab for the 1001 RB II.

Does anyone know if the NEO 212 II comes in a 4 ohm box?

Has anyone compared the NEO 115 II vs the 12 as a single cab?

I haven't compared 115 v 112, but, I have been thinking about adding one.
112 over 115 stack might have a little more sledgehammer.

After getting the PF500 a few weeks back I was being indecisive about cabinets. I finally decided to keep my current 2x15 for loud shows, but have just acquired a GK Neo 112 II for small jobs. Apart from one little thing I'm very impressed with everything about it. The tone is great, the size/weight are tiny and the volume is tremendous for such a small cab. It goes surprisingly low too so the 5 string is OK. Stand it on end and the PF500 sits perfectly on top.

The one small bad thing? - the silver/grey grille and the badges. i.e. Nothing that can't be solved in 10 minutes with a can of matt black... I may do one side black and flip it, just in case it has any problems during the 3 year warranty period...

So I reckon I'll be going down the same route as Chef and basss on the grille front, probably leaving the badges on, because they look less intrusive on a black background.

I don't think you can really flip it, due to the mounting channel.
The badges are foam backed; if that tears up, replace it, or they'll rattle real good.

Does anyone know if the NEO 212 II comes in a 4 ohm box?

The Neo 212-ll was available in 4 or 8 ohm versions. For whatever reason, GK discontinued the 4 ohm box. I had one and foolishly sold it about a year ago.

However, I contacted GK last week, and they do have a small quantity of 4 ohm 212-ll's in stock at the factory. I have one on order through rmc audio. They will give you 10% off and free shipping to boot.
