GK Legacy Combos

Basically my question was doesn't it seem odd that my MB110 combo weighs less than my MB108 combo and wonder if this should be a concern and if there is a logical explanation. I was joking that perhaps parts were missing :D. Thanks RAG.

The MB108 is made from MDF which is heavier than plywood. All our other cabinets including the MB110 are made from light weight plywood.

Thanks RAG, I can certainly understand that, but some time not too far off into the future when your plate is near empty it sure would be nice to see a 2x8 in the GK neo lineup or even a 1x10. I'm still a little perplexed on the shifted weight difference between my MB108 and MB110 after your explanation. The GK official website shows the MB108 at 17lbs and the MB110 at 21 lbs. My first MB110 however was true to spec, heavier than my MB108. Strange, thus my comment (joke) about my present MB110 may be missing some parts. :)

Just bought a legacy 800 with 15 combo and I'm real happy with it! Can't wait for the extension cabs. I love that the horn has low and high setting. Kinda noisy at high. Love the bump and presence switches. Find myself toggling them depending on the style of playing I'm using. I love how lightweight it is. Has anyone experienced noisy effects loop?

Had an opportunity to play the Legacy 115 Combo at Pitbull Audio recently. Very impressive. Tight sound, lot's of tone options. I had the master volume at about 8 o'clock and had ton's of volume. Wondering how similar the Legacy 112 Combo sounds and which of the GK 112 cabs to add for the 212 experience?

I have the Legacy 112 combo and it is fantastic. I cannot compare it to the Legacy 115 but can compare it to the Legacy 212. I returned the 212 only because I had some trouble getting it up my narrow staircases at home. It was not heavy but a bit bulky for me. The 112 has a very tight sound. With the trim dimed, I have only needed the master up to no more than about 4 for rehearsal with two guitars and a pretty loud drummer. There are lots of tonal options. RAG has stated that matching cabs are coming out later this year. I will be waiting for those, but honestly, I am not sure I will need it. The 112 has a lot of volume.

The weight of the 212 was not an issue. But the form factor was. I have pretty narrow staircases and with only one handle on top of the 212, it was a bit difficult to navigate. I figured the 112 would work for now and I can add one of the new cabs down the road. I am happy I made that decision as the 112 is very easy to carry and is very loud with great tone. When I am in my house and the trim is all the way up I really cannot put the master above 2 or 3.

It will crank with the second cab for sure.

Hey just wanted to check on future compatibility...

Looks like the measurements on the 1x12, 2x12, 2x10, & 1x15 combos all share the same basic size ... 19” width x 14” depth.

Are these combos designed to mix & match with the new extension cabs? Like if I got 1x12 combo then decided to add a 15 cab at some point?

Yes, that is exactly what the new cabinets are designed for.

Here is a question. With the Legacy combos, can I run the DI post or the effects send, and turn the master all the way down if I wanted to use this in a silent/direct recording application? We rehearse/record with IEM's, but if it can convincingly be a normal combo and a direct/silent recording device that will be great.
Thanks

The DI is not affected by the Master.
