GK new MBP Powered Enclosures? (More info please!)

I was looking for a new combo amp. Had pretty much settled on the GK MB212 or possibly the MB115. Now with the powered cabs this is looking even better. Having a system with 2x12 and 1x15 at 700 watts, 70 LBS, and costing about $1,100 is pretty incredible. Plenty enough power for any club.

Does anybody know if the new combos and / or the cabs are shipping yet? If the combos are already being shipped will have to go and order one or both.

I love your gear....been playing it for years with no problems and great tone! I just purchased a used MB212. The current owner painted the grill black. Will I be able to take advantage of this offer?

Here is an update That I got from Jason @ GK:

Terry, the MBP cabs are due to ship in January. We will be selling the MBP powered cabs directly to people who have the earlier MB combos that were purchased since January 2011 that don't support the MBP. You will purchase the MBP and send us your existing combo and we will ship you the MBP and a new MB combo.

Don't know if this is related but I was trying to buy a used MB115 from MF this evening to take advantage of the 15% discount. Called them to straighten out an issue with the online order and they ended up selling me a factory new unit at the used price plus the 15%. Ended up being about 32% total discount. I wonder if they're dumping inventory of the existing MB combos.

My friend James McDonough used to say the same thing years ago about GK's tone, b/c he was a died in the wool "classic tone" guy back in the day.

Then he got the Megadeth gig, and used a big GK rig for their tours b/c Dave Mustaine LOVES GK's bass sound.

Now, when I get the rare chance to talk to James again, the first thing out of his mouth is, "Got a GK rig yet?":D

The thing about GK is the more you turn them up, the better they sound.:bassist:

The new MB combos and extenstion speakers have a different look. Check it out:

As such, if someone wants to buy an extension cab, GK is going to basically send you a new combo to replace your old one. I'm not exactly sure how the process works or who pays for shipping, but I think it's very cool of GK to take care of the players/owners in this fashion.
