Hey there everyone,

I have an opportunity to trade my Musicman USA Sub for a Godin bg5 (one with EMG pickups). What do you think of this trade?
I don’t like the thick neck of the MM too much and I read nothing but positive reviews for the bg5, yet the godins sell for a very cheap price, which kinda concerns me.
Appreciate any opinion, thanks.

Do you have the chance to try the Godin before the trade? I've played both and they're very different.
IMO the USA Subs were some of the best values of the MusicMan line...the passive one has a certain warmth, and the 2-band sounded sweeter than the 3-band StingRay I used to have.

I might, not sure how we'll setup the trade yet. Anything specific you think I should look for?
The MM is a great instrument but the neck kills it for me. That's why I got rid of my Stingray I used to have and why I don't own a P bass

I just bought this black Shifter 5 on ebay for $479 shipped. I received it and it's in mint condition.

FYI - The same seller just posted a gold one for sale - these things are not easy to find - GAS ...

Hey Godin Club! Does anyone here know if the Freeway 4 have Fender compatible necks? Thanks in advance for any responses.

I don't have a Freeway 4 so I can't help you to measure the neck heel / pocket... but one thing I'm pretty sure of is, even if Fender neck fit in the Freeway 4 neck pocket (or vice versa), the bolt-on holes won't line up between a Freeway 4 neck + Fender body / Fender neck + Freeway 4 body. Some drilling would be required. Here are a couple picks of the backs of a Freeway 4 and Freeway 4 Active from old Reverb listings:

This is a little soon, as I just bought it but... L&M posted a used Godin Freeway 5 in transparent burgundy with a flame maple top. The price was frankly incredible and I ordered it so fast I didn't even grab the picture of it. lol

I'm stoked. I've wanted a Godin for years but it's just taken forever for the right one to come within reach. Gonna go through this thread in anticipation. Hopefully I have it Wednesday or Thursday.
