My son has a chinese made dirt bike... holy crap I'll never rely on a Chinese car to get me to work. I've replaced half the stuff on there with home-fabbed stuff that I got from the hardware store!

+1 I bought a China dirt bike for my kid and although it runs and for the money was a deal, if it were my car I would probably be walking 80% of the time. The very first time I filled the gas tank, gas poured out of a hole in the bottom of the tank. That proved ZERO quality control happening at that factory.

I don't get it... I see pictures online of the farmer on a dirtbike carrying 7 goats and 10 crates of chickens...

"Boycott Israeli goods?"... I can certainly concur with trying to be "China free" but what reason would any store have to justifty boycotting goods from Israel for? I think my NEXT question would be "what store" is that you are referring to so I can make a conscious effort to boycott them!

Personally I'd LOVE to see alot of manufacturing start back up in the USA again.. that would be 'win - win' for everyone involved.. case-in-point: Ampeg (traitors)

So you don't know the reasons, therefore there were no good reasons? You don't know what they were trying to do, so you'll take an antagonistic stance against them?

It's almost certainly related to the Israeli Palestinian conflict, although I can't imagine any mainstream store would want to be involved in that.

It really doesn't matter anyway, because Israel doesn't export much. Just about anything you might import from Israel can be made elsewhere. "No Israeli oranges or Desert Eagles sold in this here store..." whoopty doo, Israel is feeling the burn!

When I first saw the title of this thread, I thought it meant you weren't going to eat off plates for 2008.

I buy local made as much as possible (support your neighbours) or secondhand if I can. Most of the fun stuff I get nowadays is made in the EU, especially speaker drivers.

Now a bike, on the otherhand, is something I'd consider from China. Since the majority of it's population gets around on a bike, I'd figure that they'd have some pretty good quality on bikes. :smug:
