If I remember correctly you like the Mesa M amps... I had a Mesa M9 and that is MY TONE. Unfortunately, the amp is too heavy and failed me more than once...
I am looking for a 7 pounds or less "Mesa M sounding" amp.

Unfortunately I personally can't deal with calling the manufacturer, shipping the amp, being without it for a while...
For me a product has to work all the time. I cannot afford to have an amp shutting down in the middle of a show.

No one can, totally get that.
Early M9 had some known issues, and there are known fixes for that, which Mesa would be happy to do if you let them.

I sold my previous one. I would love to have a M9 or M6, but I would have to be absolutely sure it won't ever do that again.

I love the tone outta this thing! Flat even!
For me, it seems like a great "Micro M9,", but this is all at home some far.

GK all the way.
The tubes "don't soften it a lot," and it's a nice aggressive, bright, snarly tone.
I can't say I'm a big fan of the overdriven tone, but that statement applies across the board for all maps, to me, as that's just not my bag.

I've had mine since they first came out and have had no overly noisy fan noise at all. I went from a bum M9 to the Fusion and I can honestly say I don't miss the M9 at all, and the M9 was my holy grail of tone.
So Chef you find the MB Fusion to be in the same tone universe as the Mesa M6/M9? I wonder if the MB800 will be even closer in terms of heft and headroom?
Maybe another lightweight solution would be a Genz 9.2 using the FET channel: a good amount of power and that tight and bright slightly aggressive voicing?

The MB800 is right there in the same tonal ballpark, and it hit like a ton of bricks!
I have very high expectations for this head.

Yessir, I do, so far, having not gigged it...
So far, I can't see needing more watts either, but, again, this is "untried."
With the two Neo112's I have, it's frightening, really.
Same with my UL410.
In both cases, input gain at 11, master at about 10 oclock, eq flat, with bass trimmed a tad...it's freaking huge and knarly man.
Pretty awesome ''living room'' results.
The only downside I see so far is this:
the input pad ''pads too much,'' sucking the life out of things.
with a hot bass, I get better results dialing down input gain a tad, compared to using the active pad.

Seems to be the case with most GK products I've used. Input pad = much less tone.
The MB Fusion is something extra-special, although I've yet to gig mine. I owned the Fusion 550 for a short while and didn't like it nearly as much as this little tone monster!
MB Fusion 800 anyone?

It is a loud little sucker. I usually play it live through both my TC RS210 and RS212 but last rock gig I just used the RS212 by itself and it was more that enough.
