Got my GK MB Fusion today!!!!

Played the MB Fusion with a Bergantino AE212 over at Willie's American Guitars in St. Paul last Saturday. That combo hit a tonal grand slam and had enough sheer guts and power to rattle everything in half of the store. Abso-freakin'-lutely amazing. I never believed anything that compact could move such an amazing amount of air! Total weight of the whole setup is about 59 pounds. My old Hiwatt 100 weighed 60 pounds by itself!

My search for a new amp/cab rig is officially over and the MB Fusion and Bergy 2x12 is IT. Wow.

Sweeet! Any6 chance you've ever listened to a Mesa M6 or M9 Carbine with a Bergantino Cab like that? Similar feelings! I'd love to check out an MB Fusion based on what I've read and heard from those who have them. Very cool!

I wanted to amend an observation I made earlier in this thread. I finally had another gig w/my upright into the MBF last night. While I was definitely able to get a great sound from the head easily, it did require the use of my L.R.Baggs preamp in line to be up to snuff. I'm not even sure how I got away without it a few weeks ago when I got all excited about not needing a preamp. To be fair, I've always needed a preamp with the URB into virtually any amp... must be an impedance matching thing. I do love the result and it will idle my Eden for upright gigs.

I think that's right, and I've always preferred running a preamp before the amp, even with amps that had 1kohm input impedance....

Interesting... I think maybe the GB Streamliner is 1mohm input... not sure. Did you get a chance to try the URB directly into that in your brief encounter?

...different thread, I guess.

BTW, nice avatar, Chef! It looks like maybe you joined the cast of Mad Men :).

Some pages back, someone posted about painting the Neo112 cab grills black.
So, I did.

Pull 'em removed badges, scuff the grills up with a scotchbrite pad, wipe them down, hit them with krylon industrial enamel black, rest over night, re-install badges, reinstall grills.

Much better to my eye, and now they match everything else I have for when I feel like putting one under my Walkabout Scout, which actually sounds really good.

True enough, silver grills are brighter, but:
the cab is now 15mph faster, and can fly right under Government Radar.

This is really important for some of the Stealth Jobs I do.
