For now the MB Fusion especially on gigs when doubling. Otherwise, either Walter Woods (hi power), MB200 or Ashdown ABM EVO II (500w UK made)

Very true on the WW.
I haven't gigged the Fusion yet with DB (I will on Saturday) but I did with the MB200 and it sounded really good to my taste and seemed like the EQ points were very DB friendly. I sure like how the Fusion sounds at home but, of course, in context on a gig is what counts.

Phil Maneri and I spent some time trying out a bunch of smaller to micro bass heads with Phil's old upright (VL-208 cabs). While all three of the GKs involved (MB200, MB500, MB Fusion) were in the top tier, the MB200 seemed to have the best voice of the three for upright. The MB500 was second. Of course, that was just one small snapshot sample using one bass, one player, and one set of cabs. YMMV, of course.

just got my amp in, havent got to play it yet, but i will play with it this week and gig it this weekend...
So I've been contemplating picking up a MB Fusion for a few months now and just realized that it doesn't have an auxiliary input. I connect my drum machine through my amp quite a bit for practicing at home. Is it possible to use a 1/4" splitter and run the drum machine (Zoom MRT-3B) and the bass into the instrument input of the Fusion?
ive been playing with my mb fusion all afternoon... i havent really been able to get it it very loud, but so far im loving the tone. ive played it with both of my bass guitars and my double bass (with a preamp) and like it on all three...
can you post a demo on youtube? i want to hear the mb fusion but none of the dealers near me have it in stock. thanks.
I was at the concert where David Price played his basses with Leszek Cichoński, John Broadway Tucker, Wojciech Karolak and two other brilliant young Polish blues/jazz musicians just two days ago. David used his MB Fusion with F-bass (a fretless), Fender J, and his aluminum upright bass. I can only say, David could use the capabilities of that "small" amp to the max. I especially enjoyed the R&B tunes played on URB and the J. As I could understand, David had used his A channel for the double-bass and the B channel for bass guitars.

Thanks, Antek, it was great to meet you there and thanks for the kind words. Yes, I was using the A channel for the upright and the B channel for the electrics. Still getting used to it but really like the amp so far. Only thing I might like different on it would be the ability to have different EQ settings for the two channels but I know that's a trade off given the compact size. I also expected it to have an aux input (as the MB200 does) so that's a slight disappointment. That said, I think it's a terrific amp and certainly doesn't sound small to me. We did a rehearsal/sound check yesterday and it was as full, thick, punchy and articulate as I could want any amp to be.

David, do you send the DI signal to the PA pre or post pre-amp?

Post - if I can get away with it. Many/most sound guys reflexively want it pre but I want the character of the preamp/amp to be part of the signal and, so far, I've been leaving the EQ relatively flat - and with the gain settings the URB on the A channel and BG on the B channel level outputs are about the same.
A little OT, yes, but he's a great bass player (even if playing it on a Hammond). An absolute monster, world-class B3 player.
Still OT: The whole band is just great! Those young people, Niebielecki with his tiny DW drum set (I liked your "breaks" with Bartek very much!) or Łukasz Łyczkowski... I thought it would be well boring concert, then Łyczkowski got me head-banging, then I really enjoyed the whole show!
I just bought the MB Fusion which puts out 350W at 8Ohms per the GK manual. I have an Eden D112xlt cabinet that says 8Ohm, 250w RMS on the back. I've looked through all the posts on RMS and am more confused than when i started (not sure how i've been a bass player for 22 years and never worried about this before). Will the MB Fusion blow my cabinet?

In the event anyone else has this issue... I spent some time looking into the power on noise and discovered it was a bad tube. Tube number 1 was the culprit. I had some Sovtek 12AX7WA's kicking around so I swapped the 1st tube and the noise went away. Not wanting mismatched tubes, I swapped all three JJ's for the Sovtek's I had (actually Fender Groove Tube's I had from a Fender Prosonic). I find these tubes quieter than the stock tubes with slightly less gain. No noise at all on power up. I have some NOS Jan Phillips 12AX7's somewhere that I think I will try as well.
I'm afraid it might be the case, especially as you may overdrive your cabinet just incidentally.
I do experience strange noise from the amp on switching it off, noisy signal via the DI cable. Could it be the tubes, too?

My former band chose to be boring, not only by getting rid off me (and off the MB Fusion!) but also by telling the next bassist to strictly follow the root notes of the electric guitar played in the twin-kick drum rhythm ;-)
