Got my GK MB Fusion today!!!!

I like the idea of this head very much. I played it the other day and found the sound intriguing and complex in the B channel when directly compared to the mb 800. My concern is with another thread that talks about the post di not having a proper level control between the 2 "channels." Seems like a glaring design mistake. Is this correct that if you want to run post di and set the B channel for grind and A channel for clean that you will have a significant level difference? If so, will this be fixed in the mb fusion 800 with the slightly different layout?

Played a Fusion for the first time this past weekend. I was visiting San Diego and took a trip to Bass San Diego.

First tried the MB800 (also my first experience) The 800 sounded very nice as I was demo'ing basses. I didn't feel the need or desire to find another amp. Then out of curiousity I plugged in the Fusion. Wow! More presence, soul and sweetness. Sounded more dimensional for lack of a better term.

I was playing through and Epifani UL3 2x10 cab.

This makes me want to wait for the Fusion 800! Very nice! :D

heh....nope....!!!!!

I really like the MBFusion 500, and there's not that often I need more than it has, but I'm a sucker for headroom, and I'll get the 800 when it comes out.

Also:
I've been using the 1001 a lot lately, cause I really dig GK's bi-amp thing. Neat stuff.

I read another thread that indicated the MB Fusion 800 release date is slated for November. Not sure how reliable that is, but thought I'd share. I enjoyed playing through an MB Fusion 500 at Bass San Diego this summer, so I am very intrigued with the 800W version! I've been schlepping a Mesa M6 Carbine which I don't mind all that much, but if the micro sized GK is as good as I hope, my load could get a little lighter!

Well, I know the top lid definitely has to come off to do this. I have not done it to my own unit, but Bob showed us how to swap out tubes at one of the NAMM Shows, and the top was already off.

Just got my MB Fusion yesterday. I really like my MB200 and the MB Fusion is even better. The jazz and precision sounded real big through the 2 x GS112s. The fan doesn't bother me while practicing but I'm used to a fan running with my DB359. Unfortunately the amp came w/o a manual, foot switch or cable so its going back today unless they can come up with them.

I've been thinking of getting MB Fusion and 2pcs of Neo 112 cabs for rock/punk rock band but I'd also like to use it with my upright for bigger jazz/rockabilly gigs (I've got the old good GK MB200 for smaller ones). Did you sort out the problems you mentioned with the sound for DB when using this gear? thanx for help

I never did add batting, no.
They are still not my fave cabs for DB; nope.
They're "ok enough," but, I have other stuff I like better.

DB gear/voicing is soooo terribly personal, I wouldn't be put off by my prefs one way or the other. Find a way to audition them, they might well be just your thing.

Hey,
I'm having some issues with another class D head (one valve preamp) whose cooling fan is constantly on.
Since GK MB500's fan never turns on yet the amp remains cold, I was wondering if the Fusion has this kind of issue with the fan.
