Great bass players that use picks.

I think Newstead on some occasions used pick too, not too sure though so I'm just gonna put my 2 cents.

I mention again Roger Waters, not a monster of technique but with great creativity (he also plays with fingers depending on the song).

Thing is plucking with fingers and picking have different sounds, so I just don't think it's really good a comparison between the two.

Nine pages and 163 posts and nobody mentioned the greatest of all time, ROCKETTE MORTON from the Magic Band. Bot he and Eric Drew Feldman used metal finger picks.

Or do they not count because they played fingerstyle with finger picks as opposed to all of these pretenders you guys mentioned who hold a pick between their thumbs and finger?

Jerry Handley was a great player too; love Safe as Milk. I think the Captain's bassists all used picks.

Ok lets throw a twist in this and start to think. I am a finger player mainly but when I want to play some dixie dregs when Andy West is flying I use a pick.
So it is good to know all of them. Maybe someone should of said for a certain style or speed?
