Ambrosia? Man, those guys had at least four hits off the top of my head- You're The Only Woman, How Much I Feel, Holding On To Yesterday, and You're The Biggest Part Of Me. IMO they don't qualify as lost OR deserving better, but I don't have any of their albums (my memory is from 70s radio). Are the albums so great that you feel they were done wrong, even with the songs I mentioned?

Ambrosia? Man, those guys had at least four hits off the top of my head- You're The Only Woman, How Much I Feel, Holding On To Yesterday, and You're The Biggest Part Of Me. IMO they don't qualify as lost OR deserving better, but I don't have any of their albums (my memory is from 70s radio). Are the albums so great that you feel they were done wrong, even with the songs I mentioned?
Lucky...a good friend had two copies & refused to cough one up. When I first got online, one of the very albums I hunted down was Full Moon. Found it @Tower Records online...$30/Import & worth it!
They started as a Prog-Rock band...within this past year, I bought everything they had. Wolfgang's Vault, too, has a nice live concert available.
I know he's still plugging away, but I don't think Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes evere got their due.

And I'll add Barkmarket to that! Similar vein to The Jesus Lizard. Saw Barkmarket once and was completely blown away. Their live sound was insane!
From Long Island: The Good Rats. Rolling Stone praised their Warner Brothers release Tasty (2nd of 13 albums). They also referred to them as the Greatest Unknown Band.
From W-pedia: In 1974, the Good Rats released their best-known and most popular album, Tasty. It featured a blend of hard rock and blues, highlighted by Marchello’s raspy vocals. Various songs from this record, including “Injun Joe”, “Papa Poppa”, a rock ode about cults, the autobiographical numbers “Back to My Music” and “The Songwriter”, and the blues title track, received airplay around the country on FM radio. During the following years, the Rats performed at venues such asMadison Square Garden, The Philadelphia Spectrum, The Nassau Coliseum, The Hammersmith Odeon in England, and New York’s Central Park, as well as showcase rooms such as The Bottom Line (Manhattan),My Father’s Place (Roslyn, New York), Whiskey a Go Go (Los Angeles) and The Paradise Room (Boston). Spent all of my disposal income on eclectic vinyl back in the '70's. Some of the stuff is so obscure these may be only surviving copies. Not sure if it's a gold mine, a landfill or a combination of both. What matters is that they still bring joy each time they hit the turntable, so monetary value isn't a concern.
They had a really promising career ahead of them and they ran into all sorts of misfortune. Yes, they did have four hits, but they could have been as big as other acts such as Fleetwood Mac, Bob Seger, etc.
In my house, my vinyl is referred to as the toxic waste dump. I still flip a lot of discs.

I saw Ambrosia back in the 70s open for Kansas - what a show that was!
3 of the original members of Ambrosia are still together and touring and they are really good.
- Joe Puerta - vocals, bass, guitar (1970-1982, 1989–present)
- Burleigh Drummond - drums, percussion, vocals, bassoon (1970-1982, 1989–present)
- Christopher North - keyboards, backing vocals (1970-1977, 1978-1982, 1989-present)
They put out a greatest hits live CD a few years back. The YouTube drum channel concert is really good. Burleigh and Joe give lots of band history and insight into what they're all about. Great band. Glad David Pack has had success, too. It would have been interesting to see where they'd be now if they were more fortunate.

The Beatles, as represented by John, Paul, George, and Ringo, had a mere 8 year run (62-70) with only 12 studio LPs. It's a shame they were just a flash in the pan and never made it.
