Our lead singer once banged a skank in a broom closet at the bar we were playing. The bartender caught them and the owner was not happy. He was riding bareback too.
Hmmm. I thought bands were EXPECTED to do that sort of thing back in the 80's.

I frequently break wind at gigs. In my defense, I usually walk over by the drummer when I do it.
G.G. Allin. /thread
The guys I've seen do this are guitarists, drummers and singers in rock bands. That would be most horn players, if you count shaking out the spit-valve. Brass instruments are played by spitting into them, more or less, so whenever there's a brass player, you get spit. That's just how it is.
I met a bass player that wore a cotton work glove on his fretting hand and often filled the glove with Vaseline.
I guess that is nothing compared to the previous posts.
I was reminded on another thread about the time a Bassoon player up-ended her instrument near my gear, and a disturbing amount of spit flowed out and onto the top of my amp head.
Have you had a similar experience?
Nail clipping, ear wax removal, sweating etc? It's all giving me the shivers!

HAAHAHAHAH!!!... It WAS the 80's, right!!
It's actually condensation, not saliva. That would be most horn players, if you count shaking out the spit-valve. Brass instruments are played by spitting into them, more or less, so whenever there's a brass player, you get spit. That's just how it is.
Are you sure it was spit? I played trumpet for six years and they have what we call "spit release" valves. But in actuality it isn't spit (unless you're purposefully spitting into it ), just a buildup of water vapor that gets blown in over time.
I'll never forget that smell. His guitar absorbed the stink from the strap being stored in the case.
