Gross things other musicians do.

A very good warning to touring singers.

Bring your own 58 on the road and a bottle of listerine to soak the mic ball in lest you get sick.

haha 100%!! My brother and I toured the Maritimes with our three piece rock band, and we played a show at a greasy little bar in Moncton, NB. It was a rowdy little booze-fueled function, and after our set a group of regulars came up and said "so who got the smelly mic?", both my brother and I shrugged and pointed out that the bar's house mic was laying on the stage in the corner. They got a good chuckle out of that, because apparently the night before some touring lunatic's stage antics included dropping the mic down the back of his sweaty buttcrack and then fishing it back out by yanking on the cable.

Luckily, we both brought our own mics and passed the fresh-breath test haha!

I've never understood this nose grease phenomenon, my face is not at all greasy/oily neither is my hair. Rubbing my nose doesn't leave any kind of lubrication on my fingers what so ever. But then again, I am one of those people that showers daily

That is deeply and truly disgusting...

Hanging out after the show at the guitarists place. My sister and her friend go upstairs with him and we don't see them for a few minutes...but man we could hear them. I was mortified. I left. The rest of the band apparently chewed him out for doing that too me. I'm not sure I will ever forget that :(
You only think that's gross cuz it was your sister! Is she good looking? :woot:

Sounds like one of G.G. Allin's old haunts.

At an open jam a few years back, my buddy played a few songs himself with an acoustic guitar and a harmonica.. After he finished, some guy he did not even know, came over, grabbed the harp from a napkin on the bar in front of my buddy and headed to the stage. Never even asked if he could use it! Needless to say, that guy got himself a pretty nice harp that afternoon as my friend said to keep it.. He has no idea how lucky he was that the harp was all he got. I think my bud was in more disbelief than anything!

Two or three stories about a famous jazz clarinet player, well known in Italy (he passed away a few years ago - anyway I won't name him...). Quite a gross person, but a great musician.
1- pissing in one of those high ashtrays, right behind the stage (I was there!);
2- putting his member through a hole in the curtain while people in the audience was waiting for the show to begin (told by a reliable source);
3- evacuating in a singer's purse because he didn't like her singing (I don't know if it's true, but that wouldn't surprise me at all).

I think it's a bizarre phenomenon exclusive to TB where someone may have suggested it half jokingly and it just took off from there. It's probably one of the more disgusting things posted aside from the guy sucking in his ear plugs:vomit:

Also gross:

Receiving gear smeared in previous owners DNA (REALLY?? You're not gonna clean the damn thin before shipping it??) or the slime caked guitars at GC...

Gear photos featuring aforementioned DNA (black basses) or close ups of people's skin flake buildup around pickups and bridges:confused:

I've ruined on board eq knobs with sweat... After every show, if people want to say hi or give me a hug I say please don't, I'm super sweaty and those that proceed at their own peril, get grossed out right away when they realized I wasn't kidding... It's bad.

a singer early on did the vestwich thing with pizza in his giant trucker chain wallet once while plastered, found the pizza the next day at the grocery store and thought it was so hilarious that for several weeks he was rarely without wallet pizza.

The drummer in my band has a habit of pulling his zipper down and exposing his testicles at random times. I'm not a fan of that

time to develop your own habit; for example, carrying around a squirt bottle of bleach. that's literally criminal (at least in the usa); sex-offender stuff, and not at all funny. that guy needs at least a talking to and if it was me, he'd get a punch in the mouth to go with it.

I was reminded on another thread about the time a Bassoon player up-ended her instrument near my gear, and a disturbing amount of spit flowed out and onto the top of my amp head.

Reminds me of watching a Jazz band we had performing at a pub I managed and watching the trumpet player regularly emptying his spit valve all over the stage. They were very good musicians but drew a very average crowd and acted the whole time like they were superstars. To top it off, the keyboard player didn't bring a keyboard because he heard there was a piano at the gig. Well, there was...... it was bolted to the wall as decoration! Lucky the pub owner had a Kurzweil upstairs that he was able to use...... and then bitched all night about how it wasn't as good as his...... which he didn't bring.:banghead:
