Nope , no names. Same with my cars and motorcycles, as far as I am concerned, they are just machines that I enjoy. I don't think there is any harm in naming things, but it is not for me. Didn't Davy Crockett name his rifle Ol' Betsy?
The main reason I name my basses is that sometimes I need help getting packed up to head to a gig or afterwards to head home, and each case is tagged with the instrument's "name" on large vinyl tape. It's easier to say "Find the bag that says LOUIE on it" rather than "Well, it's black and it's longer than the other cases like it".
I have never been one to name guitars, or basses, (or cars for that matter). Maybe it's because I go through them too quick, maybe it's because I'm not that inventive. I named my dogs, and my kid... and that's literally it. Even my wife's cats I don't call by name, I just call 'em "boy-cat" and "girl-cat" and "fat-cat" (and "sasshole"... so I guess the latter deviates from my theory)
i haven't gotten into the naming of musical instruments...yet.
and i think you should be able to call your things whatever you want to; they are yours to do so.

Bingo. Any guesses why I named the Ibanez EHB "Louie"?
I've got lots of basses and guitars but the closest I've come to naming any of them is that this bunch is named Ricky except for the Shaftesbury of course, I'm not demented.
Just don't rename your boat or Neptune will be angry:

Years ago I owned a Gibson Ripper that I named "Jack".
I named one bass. Well the guitarist in my old band named it. Otherwise, I don't name instruments.
I have one called "The Gorse" the other 6 basses 2 guitars and the 5 past basses all remain nameless
